ps - can we keep the due date to a month? interest in Challenges seems to wane if they are stretched out.

@Dutchbeat   does it literally have to be about a ghost in a kitchen?  I'm thinking about it ….. but I mean it has to be due by mid October for Halloween release, right? Wait do you have Halloween over there?

Pity it needs to be freshly written. I have a nice 'ghost' lyric that I penned a few months ago.
Doubt I'll manage to write anything in the next wee while. Have been pretty busy and under the radar for the past couple of months. But we'll see.

I agree with Robert that folks lose interest if a contest deadline is stretched out too long.

No, @Bill from November Sound , it can be about anything as long as there is something paranormal, spooky or ghostly to or in the final product. It can be anything that makes the track 'ghostly' or scary or supernatural, we just call it the ghost-in-the kitchen-songwriting-challenge.

As for the deadline....shall we say: end of september? so one month to make a song for this challenge?

Sorry @Susantaylor  .... we tried to reason with them.     You said no ghostwriting. I said no to @Lane opening the antique drawer ...... but they just don't listen.   

   I'm not writing about ghosts, I still sleep with the lights on. I would have nightmares. 
We do have fairies in my kitchen though! My husband believes they wash-up and put beer in the fridge, though he hasn't actually seen one.
