I'm OK with banning the word "like", but not "love"  ::heart::

 ;D ;D ;D ;D @CrystalSuzy ....i am sure you can find a way to express or say love without saying...... 8) 8) 8)

and @LePlongeur, great that you are in for this competition too, and, no hurry, you can always start later....
are there more contestants who are in for trying this? Making an extremely positive song probably will be good for your mood...... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wait, I didn't say whether or not I would like join yet.

I just like thought it was hilarious that Americans will be at a disadvantage because we say "like" too much.  :D

We have to take some measures to stop you winning all of our competitions @Bill from November Sound , please have a little bit of understanding for our tough task as being part of the forum staff running these competitions!!  ;) ;) ;D ;D

Maybe, if I hadn't already started my song before the NO LOVE clause was introduced  ;D ;D ;D ;D
But I never said for sure whether or not, I was entering this comp. so that's a clincher  ;D ;D ;D ;D No LOVE, no comp~for me  ::heart::
and I'm OK with that   ;D ;D ;D It's a democracy after all, and it can't be all about me  ;D ;D ;D  ::Suzy::

just to be sure...i just thought it was a funny idea to have to write a ridiculously positive song without being allowed to use the words "love" and "like". I didn't know you already started on your song @CrystalSuzy

 :P :P :P
"No Love, no  ::trumpet::" sounds like a protest sign

Well now you really have got a protest starting up @Dutchbeat!

Bring back LOVE to our competition!

The rebels are out!!!

If you like novels with a musical theme, why not try 'Sixth Beatle - When Music Changed The World', easily found on Amazon and Google. It is amazing, although as the author I may be biased!

Iíve never ever been info a contest before. Contest and detest, too close.
But I got lured into this because I was promised iíd be up against the best of the best.
But what if the best of the best chicken out? And call it Ďall in good fun, rightí?

I know that fun varies from country to country but it looks like you take the test out of contest @CrystalSuzy!

Wouldnít it be better to smuggle away one syllable from your song,  and put amour back instead of love? That could be great fun and the management would be none the wiser, I think.
If you really insist, iíd come back and paste an amount of smilies that would defy even Mar t.
Kind regards, Gus

Well of course good fun, don't take this seriously anyone!!!  ;)

I would have preferred to have 'love' available, as it is the most positive word in the world, along with 'yes'...oh, and 'cake'. But seriously, I get the restriction is there for a reason and all part of the 'challenge', so I will happily take down my placard.

Good luck to whoever enters - I will see if the muse comes or not before volunteering for this one. As mentioned earlier, my last song was 'positive' - and such happenings are something of a blue moon occurrence in the MichaelA kitchen! ...but we'll see!  ;D

Great idea Gus, but unfortunately using amour instead of love, would give my song a bit of a humorous twist, which wouldn't suit it  ::heart::   All the best to you in the comp
and if I get inspired to write something else, I will  ::Suzy::

Great idea, getting the songwriting juices flowing  ::Note::

The world needs a few positive songs as well. Having said that, if there's a "sad song competition", I'd be happy to enter my full back catalogue :-)

Looking forward to hearing what everyone cooks up!

Ian

Well, I'm a sleeping member. A heavy sleeper, that is. But sometimes, a tune or an idea gets in my head that has to get out. And that happened when I read about this competition. But I'll warn you. It's not a song, I'm not a singer, I'm lazy and I'm not that good with English words. But hey, a little humor never did hurt anyone.  Did it?

So I posted this ... sketch, on SoundCloud, hoping to make at least somebody smile a bit. :)
