Asking for a friend
on: October 21, 2020, 22:06:09

A second collaboration with @Pleudoniem  and @ProgRockDan

What about salvation?
(Asking for a friend)
Is it too late to learn guitar?
(Asking for a friend)
What about reincarnation?
(Asking for a friend)

Is New York already safe?
(Asking for a friend)
Has the debate taught us anything?
(Asking for a friend)
Can crises be averted?
(Asking for a friend)

Can I get myself into new Zealand?
(Asking for a friend)
Can one get oneself tested?
(Asking for a friend)
Is love still a proposition?
(Asking for a friend)

This started as a 6/4 108 BPM track provided by Dan. Eric added: guitar (with bot sequence), synths (Buchla & Mellotron). Dick thought of some lyrics and recorded the vocals.
The title was taken from a tweet by Sean Ono Lennon, when he 'asked for a friend' (#askingforafriend) if it is possible to get a resident permit in New Zealand.

ha @oorlab @Pleudoniem  and @ProgRockDan

enjoyed it very much, i love the lyrics, and especially that "asking for a friend" line  :praise: :praise:

great images in the video, loads of things going on in the music....some a bit too much at times (the percussion and the used countsi in the percussion s a bit much for me), but very creative and original combinations, and twists and turns all over the place  :ok:

Thanks @Dutchbeat  - we will make an alt mix, with less percussion, indeed in the current version the rhyhm section really went wild :-)

My first post must have landed in another thread.
Maybe I should be asking for a friend.
Anyway, I was a bit sceptical about this 'less percussion' thing. But I have to admit that was the thing to do. I think.
I became far easier accessible.
For me it took some time to get into it but now that I did, I like it a lot.
Kind regards, Gus
