Collaborations - the good!
on: November 13, 2020, 03:11:56
Have you had good experiences with collaborations?
Bill
Songwriter, Keyboards, Arranger, Producer & Engineer for November Sound

Not currently posting music here but we're easy to find if you care to listen. November Sound will happily listen, follow, like, subscribe and repost for people who do the same. We get a lot of spam so let us know you're from the kitchen!

What a good idea @Bill from November Sound to start two threads.
Not only songs or lyrics in connection, but threads as well.

Over the many years, I engaged in very nice collaborations.

July 2018: Katrina for instance. Here in the Kitchen.
- Kozo Pinkwillow, lyrics
- Chris, the singing
- I, myself did the backing.

While recording I felt like something special was happening.
When I posted it I wrote:
Wir sind sehr Stolz.
We are very proud.
Wij zijn heel trots. Je hebt geen idee!
Talking about a collaboration!

I will search for the track and host it elsewhere, since picosong folded.
Then we can listen to it now and then.

Kind regards, Gus

My favorite on kitchen collaboration was here with @TheMobRapper
JC made all the music, Melissa sang it and I did all the vocal processing. I still love this tune!  8)

My favorite off kitchen collaboration was with Giovanni Del Anna ( Delangio) from Italy. I made this and , well, it was garbage. Melissa killed with the vocals, though! She recorded them and they came out great! The song I made was terrible but not the melody, mind you.
I sent the stems to Delangio and he created a masterpiece using the vocal tracks.   :)

See a theme here? I have great collaborations because my wife can sing.
I, myself, don't have much to offer.  :-\

I'm not very experienced with collaborations as I'm in the kitchen just one and into entire songwriting two years now.
My passion for it sparked by a collab with a more advanced musician and I loved it from first moment to play the music as a ball back and forth without knowing exactly what will come out at the end. That was before I joined the kitchen.
Unfortunatley this collab ended by personal reasons.

EDIT: Here is a point of mine that belongs more to the 'Collaboration- the bad"

I had one single collab..... rather its my secret... that I really count to one of the best experience happend in my life... really!! I still get heartbeat when I think to that collab....  :D :D :D
So collabs always will be a bag of surprise to me and I know me, Im to curious to don't try it out even there are some bad points related too, that sometimes can be hurting.  All in all my experience are very positiv. ::thumb::

Remember @Mo this thread is called "collaborations -the good" so you can only put hoid things in this thread!  ;D
You almost put something bad about collaborations.  C:-) I'll let it slide this time     but next time make sure to put bad things in "collaborations - the bad"   ;D:lol:
 >:D not sure why I think this two thread thing is so funny.

@Mo it's funny to me because I'm imagining the absurdity of people have to open up two browser windows to put good things in one thread and bad things in another.  ;)
All because of this connected songs/connected threads thing ....  :)
IDK if this was a good idea that I had.

For me ... I just realized .... everything is a collaboration!!!!

 :)

Places like this revolve around the singer-songwriter DIY folks.

I don't sing.

For me nothing gets here without getting past at least two collaborators.  :)

Three collaborators with my guitarist ( but he's a little easier to deal with ... I mean less opinionated. )

I think we have a good synergy.

@Tainted Icarus  is my mastering engineer and I always like working with him.

So I guess I have a lot of good collaborations!  :)

Yes, but entirely justified @Tainted Icarus
In my heart of hearts I hope youíre an Australian, so you can mercilessly stretch the AI and the I in your alias.
Welcome in the Kitchen.

@Bill from November Sound already gave you kudos. As a secret Ill disguised, cause bill will always give an even number.
He thinks Iím odd, or some such thing.

To follow in his good footsteps, Iíll give two as well.

Look at that @Tainted Icarus 4 karma points already! Two from me and two from @LePlongeur !
Btw - @LePlongeur - TI is a Michiganian  ;) which I'd say is the US equivalent of an Australian.
 ::Hoss::

TI you should totally say your name like that, though.

The Friday album officially hit the shelves yesterday!!!
Thanks again @Tainted Icarus !!!!   It sounds good playback on everything!
You're the man!
