Hey guys, I've created the vocals for a dozen songs that are in need of killer musical accompaniment. I really feel like the world could use some of these songs right now, with everything thatís going on! I have some ideas for the overall sound (a mix of Josef Salvat, Broods, Night Drive, The xx, and even some One Republic) and the instrumental components, but skilled musicians (or one or two multi-discipline master musicians) could likely put my ideas to shame by just listening to what I have and crafting their own additions. I've also cleaned up the audio decently well to eliminate background noise, but you may have better software and can make the vocals cleaner and apply better filters, which would be awesome.

I've also left some breaks in between verses or other places where instruments alone would likely sound good, but the breaks are just meant to separate vocals, they're not not meant to be exactly however long the instrumentals should last. So feel free to suggest the kind of instrument-only sections you think would sound best!

I'm more interested in just seeing the songs brought to life than the money side, so I'm only looking at owning 10% of any cash we make off of them, with the rest divided equally among the contributors, or however seems most fair. To avoid anyone having hard feelings I would like to have all contributors sign one of those documents that spells out what everyone can expect as far as rights and shares of any money made, because no one wants any nasty surprises especially where our creations are concerned (I have a copy of one that's recommended).

If you're interested in participating then it would be great to hear some of your work before we get started to make sure we have a good fit. Anyway, I'm pumped to hear what you can come up with to flesh out these songs! I've included links below so you can listen to the vocals, and if you're interested in contributing just let me know and I'll provide links that allow you to download copies.

(BTW, I actually speak decent Dutch after having spent a good amount of time in Nederland, so if you speak the language...ik zal het graag wel af en toe met jullie gebruiken!)

Hello @Engild  Ö Welcome to the Kitchen!  :)

Some cool stuff here.  :)  You've got a good sense of pitch it seems so that would help a lot for someone interested in putting these together. I mean I was able to jam along with your singing on my keys no problem. I, however, am not really into producing.

This being "songwriters in the kitchen" rather than "producers in the kitchen" is going to be the hurdle for you. But there are actually some here.   :) Some good ones too!  8)
My suggestion to you is to take a look around, join some discussions in other parts of the forum, make some friends and I bet you'll eventually find what you're looking for. It takes a little while for people to build up trust mainly because we have people who show up, post something like this and then disappear forever.  :-\  Interaction. Give and Take. Supporting others ... is kind of how the kitchen works when it works.  :ok:

If you need any help getting started feel free to message me or any of our other friendly members of the kitchen staff - https://www.songwriter-forum-kitchen.com/forum/teampage/

November Sound is based on the Mother, Father & Son musical trio of Melissa, Bill & Will. I'm the father so anything I post will have my wife singing and/or my son playing percussion.

Thanks for your feedback, Bill; please forgive my newb-ness! I thought the title of producer applied to a company or person who set up contracts and did funding, but based on your explanation it seems more like a producer handles musical composition, has editing equipment, and potentially creates some or all of the accompaniment tracks themselves. Is that a fair, rough definition?

I'll see what I can contribute to the kitchen and try to identify producers; should I also be looking for musicians who are interested in recording accompaniment and put them in touch with the producer (if I can find one) or would you recommend that I leave that up to the producer?

Yes @Engild ... that's what I meant by producer.
Yes producers/musicians are here in a songwriters forum and you'll probably get to know a few .... or maybe at least find some people who may want to collaborate after you've been around and been involved awhile. I know it's no quick fix but I hope this advice helps a little. :)
It might be worth a try, anyway.  :shinyteeth:

Welcome to the Kitchen @Engild  - impressive setlist you've got there. Which song would be the first to try if you'd find a collaborator?
Salute & good luck!

Thanks for the feedback, Bill and oorlab! To answer oorlab's question, if I had to pick one to work on first it would have to be Free at Last, given the heightened level of visibility into racial inequality in the world at present.
