Helllllooooooo.

Right then! Basically I got really in to Modern Baseball like yesterday and needed to write an upbeat song with sad vibes- which is basically right up my street. Then I thought it would be a great idea to see if there were any poets or vocalists that fancied a stab at doing some vocals on it.

Here's the link: https://soundcloud.com/glenngloverice/gettin-all-modern-baseball-on-my-own-arse/s-LpAPs

Download is available on the link.

Honestly, although the topic seems to narrow down my search, ANYTHING is welcome, I wanna see what you guys have!

For fans of: Jimmy Eat World, Brand New, Touche Amore, La Dispute, American Football, SUnny Day Real Estate, etc.

Love

G
all the sad musics are belong to me.

I'd be glad to help @glenngloverice , but I'm too busy to invent the lyrics. So if you can provide some words I'd be happy to give it a try.
The instrumental sounds great, please notice I might not have the right voice for the genre...
Let me know what you think  ;D ;D ;D
Great to see you around again my friend!

Having had a listen how's this for starters:

I'm such a dum-de-dum <-- insert suitable baseball reference
It makes me dum-de-dum <-- you get the idea

 :)

@MartiMedia Sure man! I have some ideas that worked as a spoken word concept with the topic of trying to find sense in gun laws in the USA currently :) Not sure where you guys are from (well I could take a wild guess at DutchBeat) so if it's not something you agree with, please don't feel like you need to use them.

Here're my scribblings:
"Iím like a washed up member of a string quartet,
on the coast of my own love and doubt,
pulled by tide and tide by the titanic,
and iím not figuring a thing out.

These nights are but a drop in the ocean,
but theyíre faling further by the fathom.

I am laid in the brickwork of this foundation
but Iíve seen more mortar in the martyrs of this generation than any wall you could build out of lies,
cause walls are intended to block the outside.
I admit, this shoebox is a home to a bird,
flightless little lifeless thing, shot down I had heard.
If you jump the gun, then you love the hunt
cause the same hands raised to speak truth are the same that weapons use.

I am sympathy dressed up in smart-casualty,
champagne in my IV drip,
a rose tinted gurney.
Hopelessly romanticising all the tension
dolling up the images of my own pretension.
Could we see this through?
Cause everytime someone wakes next to you, you talk in your sleep of these stupid little fantasies.
Or am I too blind to see?"

@jim I didn't mean the sport ahaha but I absolutely wanna hear it anyway!

 :-[  See?  I'm out of touch...I didn't know it was a thing.

Sounds like you've got a lot more than me, I was trying to get the lyrics started, but you're well on the way with what you've got.  ;D

Hey @glenngloverice and @jim , sorry for my late reply, life's a bit hectic this week.
Wow Glenn, all those syllables in such a short song? Can you plz record a sketch (just speaking the words in the rhythm along with the song, so I can hear where you planned what?)
Maybe it suits this song better to dramatically decrease the syllable count? Can be I'm wrong, that's why I want to hear how you intended it...
If the word count is too high maybe @jim will still be willing to help, he's a wizard when it comes to writing/editing lyrics ;-)

@MartiMedia @Jim Hey guys, sorry I've been away for the last few days. I appreciate the responses though!
It wasn't so much that I was having trouble writing lyrics, I just wanted to collaborate with more people and see if any vocalists may have wanted to get involved for fun. So I didn't necessarily want to show anyone my thought behind it so that it wouldn't influence different perspectives, but here's what I had demoed: https://soundcloud.com/glenngloverice/no-turn-those-lights-off/s-KuueR

Hope you're both well :)

Ok, that's appreciated and I'm in all for fun.. Just trying to get some guidelines about how we should map your lyrics to the song... or are @Jim and I free to expiriment? (that's Jim writing and me singing probably)
Let us know!

EDIT: Oh I didn't hear the demo WITH vocal.. Ow man, I do not have the right voice for this one, sorry... I could not pronounce so many words per second ever (not native english..)...
What to do now? Can we invent a lyric with way less words? Or can anybody else sing this?
Sorry man..
