I never heard of these cards it?s interesting and I by myself wrote some lyric ideas, words and sentences on paper but never used them. When I start with a new song the words flow by themselves into the music. Here is an example how I write a songs.I think some of you have seen it.

I've heard of them before - Coldplay use them when working with Eno. Thinking outside the box is an excellent way to get out of a creative rut.

somehow my post of the song Deck of Cards got connected to this 2014 post. I thought I just enhance @Dutchbeat original question with the current link
https://www.allaboutsongwriting.com/songwriting-proces-oblique-strategies-with-brian-eno/
Brian Eno is also on twitter offering these 'oblique strategies' - always food for thought : e.g.

No that's interesting thanks.

However, I feel I do get quite a bit of musical inspiration from being on this site alone
