Christmas Songs Already!
on: November 11, 2018, 18:29:27
In America, the stores are already gearing up for the Christmas shopping season and it's pretty hard to ignore it.

My two favorite Christmas songs are the Kink's "Father Christmas" and the The Pogues "  Fairy Tale  of New York"  I am posting a link to a YouTube video about the making of the song, which took quite a lot of time.

Shane Macgowan is a little hard to understand when he talks though.

Anybody else have any Christmas favorites?

In the Kitchen, we have been at Christmas songs too. And we were very early.
Two hearts in the snow, right?
But when the results of the voting are made public, we'll be just in time.
Thanks for posting, I listen to it sometime when it's dark and rainy.
Kind regards, Gus

I have just watched the entire video...what a fantastic journey into the making of a song. And I finally got to really get to know Shane MacGowan. Seriously good stuff @Vince ...thanks for posting it.

Speaking of Shane MacGowan........if you enjoyed this video and listening to the Pogues'  music, you need to give another listen to our our @Jambrains hit as well (which has absolutely NOTHING to do with Christmas):

It is a little too early for Christmas stuff  @LePlongeur . I did listen (gave another listen) to JB's song  @Leonard Scaper , even commented even though he wasn't looking for any comments (people say left - I go right, been that way since the army).

It's too bad how kirsty maccoll ended up, such a talent. But, I just thought some creativity doesn't happen in an instant, sometimes it takes time and help and input from other people.

I really don't start liking Christmas until I get to Germany and the Christmas Markets along with getting on the outside of a few shots of Schnapps. :)
