Live Cover of "Lay me Down" by Sam Smith
on: November 04, 2019, 01:12:37
Hey Everyone,

Melissa and I recorded this in the living room the other night.
We like to volunteer for things and try to help out when we can ... we performed this for the Luminaria Ceremony at the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event over here at Eastern Connecticut State University.
It's a really sad ceremony where people light up luminaries in remembrance of their loved ones who died of cancer. ( This year, unfortunately, my cousin Kristin was one of the names read at this ceremony.)

Our performance went really well so once we got home we set up the camera and did this as a one take.
Sounds not the best ... because I was using a DR 40 but the gain was set kind of low from other things I was using it for.
I still think it is a good performance so we put it up anyway.

P.S. I've been trying a lot of different equipment and techniques for video stuff. (Gear List - if this will help anyone ....)
Cameras - Two Panasonic Lumix G7
Audio - Tascam DR 40
Tripods - Ravelli ... heavy video tripods
Key light - homemade cake pan + led light strip
Fill Light - small Led barn Door bounced off a reflector

Sounds fantastic....SO emotive. Very nice production as well.
