Long Ride Home (Studio Live)
« on: December 02, 2017, 20:21:06 »
Just a little something to listen to here if you are in the mood. I was messing around in the studio and this came up from the past......just one microphone and no EQ or compression.

Looks like you have another travel song there on standby  ;) Is this an old one?  The chorus seems to start with real promise but I think it falls away a bit in strength, if you don't mind me saying. So I'm thinking - if it is old - it shows how you have developed as a songwriter, as I don't think that would happen in one of your songs these days. You usually keep that strength maintained, regular as clockwork!

But all the distinctive LS ingredients are there and as a live song you perform it well. The star man reference at the end made me smile and the clever harmonics effect on the guitar was a fine way to end. Not as good as your Fat Boy song for me, but always good to hear your one man band numbers! It would be great to see you live, especially at some intimate little gig. ::thumb::
If you like novels with a musical theme, why not try 'Sixth Beatle - When Music Changed The World', easily found on Amazon and Google. It is amazing, although as the author I may be biased!

@Michael and @Mar T. ....this is actually a very old tune. I don't play it very often and for some reason I felt it there so I tracked it live like that at the end of a session for another new one that will take a bit of time. I did not remember some of it but it felt good so I just let what was there come out.

Thanks for giving it a listen.

Yes @Leonard Scaper getting out the old songs - even from the memory banks - can be quite a treasured experience. I can relate to that, even though quite a few of my old buried songs should stay that way - well and truly buried!

This song - and what I know about you - suggest you must have a whole load of rough diamonds waiting to polish up, if you were so inclined - probably at least a whole album full I bet!  ;)

Nice one @Leonard Scaper  - nice picking and I like the pauses in the vocals.

The sound is really good as well - the guitar sounds bright and the vocals have a richness about them.

cheers

Really like the simplicity of this. The playing is very smooth and everything is balanced well and sounds great tonally. Very impressed that this is a live performance!

Naked @Leonard Scaper - who would have thought it  ;D ;D ;D

I'm starting to get what you are doing with your guitar style, especially the hammer on and pull off's followed by a arppeggiated chord. it's all going into the melting pot ;-)
