No songwriting but...
on: November 28, 2017, 23:15:06
hi all,

It's been a long time since I wrote anything so I don't post any new stuff I've done on her anymore (maybe in the future I'll get the writing bug again and brave some singing).

But I have been playing live a lot more with the band I'm in. We even got paid for a gig we did at well known music venue pub in Sydney a few weeks ago.

This clip is from a gig we did as the "main act"! - it was great fun and got us hungry for more.

btw - if any of you have time - please check out our website - let me know what you think...

cheers!

Great stuff, @Jurgen!!!

I too have started playing in a band again.  Its definitely a different rush than writing and recording, but you'll be recharged once you decide to write again. ::thumb:: ::smiley::

You guys sound great @Jurgen and that is just as rewarding as writing.

Nice job @Jurgen ! Good times!

I do like the website. What I especially like about the website is the way that it has the buttons but it is the "one page" design. I haven't seen that too often. You kind of combined the best part of the traditional multi-page website design with the cool and modern "one page" style.

I'm also interested in the way you present the bookings/ calendar. For my own design I have always had trouble with that ... especially after you've been playing out a while. Right now you have one upcoming at the top and then older to newer. Will you continue in that manner?

I'm actually working on a new one now myself. I like the look of some of the modern designs but traditional design just makes it so much easier to find what you want.

thanks for watching and commenting @Vince @Knate and @Leonard Scaper

and @Bill from November Sound too of course. re the website - thanks for your comments on that as well. I'm using one of band templates from Wix to do the site - very easy and I agree it is nice to have the one page plus menu.

I'm using one of the Wix event calendars for gigs etc. but I'm going to look at alternatives. We're on Bandsintown as well and I can use their calendar from Wix as well so will try that - I'm pretty sure that one only lists gigs coming up - not previous ones so it's probably clearer and easier.

How's your site coming along? Are you using templates or building it from scratch?

cheers
