Weekends acoustic first version
on: January 05, 2020, 23:09:47
This is the Alpha version of the song Weekends.
It has some minor flaws in it and it was recorded in 2014 (so not that fresh) not long after the absolute basics of the foundation was set in the song.
The song is also recorded with full band and is on Spotify, all instruments played, recorded and mixed by me in 2016 I think, times flies away and years get mixed up.

Lyrics:

Another friday night has come to itīs end with singing, drinking smoking and friends.
waking up in someone elses bed far from home.
Sneaking out to take a piss in some bush outside.
Itīs 6 o clock time to start the walk of shame.

Still a little drunk from last nights escapades.
open up the bedroom door and crash on the floor.

Flashbacks and echoes from weekends past and still to come.
Shattered glass and people on the floor looking for the door.
Knees bent leaning on the throne.
Passing out in the shower waking up with a cold.

Saturday morning bloody mary starts the day calling around to see what the evening brings.
Loading up with beer and wine on my way.
The night is here a foggy vision and a cloudy mind.
Stumbling out to lay my head on the ground.

A man with a dog wakes me up from my sleep.
bloody knees and bruses everywhere.

Flashbacks and echoes from weekends past and still to come.
Shattered glass and people on the floor looking for the door.
Knees bent leaning on the throne.
Passing out in the shower waking up with a cold.

Sunday is here licking the scars and open sores.
The stone in my soul is getting bigger for each time.

Flashbacks and echoes from weekends past and still to come.
Shattered glass and people on the floor looking for the door.
Knees bent leaning on the throne.
passing out in the shower waking up with a cold.

nice romantic picture of a weekend, could be a Songwriting Kitchen meeting.
The tempo is a bit fast for my taste. @Fiddlasrogers   Can you give a link to the spotify version?

I really like this live version. Seriously strong performance.

I also would love to hear the band version.

@oorlab, a very romantic picture indeed, based on true stories.
@Leonard Scaper, thank you very much.

Here you have the link to the song on spotify.
Itīs a bit more punk rock then the acoustic version.

Thank you @Leonard Scaper .

The song had a feeling towards a more punk sound when I wrote it, so Iīm glad you like it.

Nice performance @Fiddlasrogers
... the lyrics are not particularly pleasant, I'd say, but that is what you're going for as the original tune is that punk style. The melody sounds real good and your singing is pretty solid.
Good show.

I like this @Fiddlasrogers - the timing at the start was a bit erratic but once you found your rhythm it was great.

I also listened to the band version - great stuff! The fast tempo is perfect with a band. Makes me wonder how a slightly slower version of the acoustic one you posted would sound.

cheers
