Hold on

First time writing lyrics in a very long time.
Was at a KT Tunstall gig yesterday and it made me realize how much I miss playing and writing music.
The best way to get back into it, is to just write. Or at least I think that might work.
So just scribbled this together and thought I'd throw it out there for your thoughts.
They're quite chabby and might feel ritmically disabled while reading, but they do come with a melody in my mind ;-)

The leaves are turning brown
They hold on as long as they can, but finally have to touch the ground
I know you're hanging on, like a leaf to the tree
And I want to help, but I can't set you free
So hold on as tight as you can

Now you're staring out the window, with one eye on the clock
Your right foot's out the door and you're already stuck
Don't want to see their faces, don't want to hear their voice
You're trying to breath easy, as if you have a choice
So hold on as tight as you can

(instrumental part)

The sun will come out soon
Peaking from behind the clouds, warming up the evening to welcome the moon
And if at night you get lonely, find the brightest star
It's carrying your name, I'm looking at the same
Just hold on as tight as you can
Just hold on as tight as you can

(instrumental part)

(I do realize that the twee big instrumental parts don't make any sense, while reading lyrics  :P )

Nice. there is a clear image but still enough mystery to invite a second, more thoughtful, read.
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper
