Another Dutch/English endeavor. The Dutch part is limited to Bridge and Chorus.

In gedachten elders, kom ik overal

Br
Ja, zo'n vliegveld blijft altijd spannend
sta ik wel in de goede rij?
Wil die grijze tijger voordringen?
Kan er ook nog wel bij

Ch1
Mijn fietshelm draag ik hier met ere
men vindt dat vreemd, dat zie ik wel
zou mij een IS aanslag treffen
blijft mijn haar mooi in model

CH2
Als ik straks te oud ben voor vliegen
ben ik dietig? ben je mal!
dan reis ik in mijn hoofd schat, in ge-
dachten elders, ben ik overal

In thoughts elsewhere, I'm everywhere

Amsterdam, Barcelona moaned
nearly collapsed under the strain
rows of airplanes full of tourists
but all their begging was in vain

The positive sides of Corona
less pollution, the air is clean
the time to visit empty streets

How dependend are we on tourists
to feed the whole family
watching almost disaster tourism
depends on what tourism you see

It's a good thing Buddy's DC3
is no longer in daily use
not large enough for the crowds
that way either way we lose

Br
Yes, an airport is always exiting
am I in the right lane?
that senior wants to get ahead
well OK I thinks thats fine

Ch1
Wear my biicycle helmet with honor
people think it's strange, mouths agape
if an IS attack would hit me
my hair'll be beautifully in shape

CH2
Isolation struck suddenly
am I saddened? Do I care?
I will travel in my head, darling, in my
thoughts elsewhere, I'm everywhere

My Corona reply.
Kind regards, Gus

@plongeur
i always take the option to read or listen to the Dutch version of your songwriting, and these three dutch parts you write are

so much fun

this bit...is so funny and good....in my opinion, excellent...you probably don't like this comparison, but that is so like... Jules Deelder...

this bit, i would only recommend to insert the word: "Maar" in front of the line "zou mij een IS aanslag treffen"

Mijn fietshelm draag ik hier met ere
men vindt dat vreemd, dat zie ik wel
zou mij een IS aanslag treffen
blijft mijn haar mooi in model

i was laughing out loud about those lines  :praise: :praise: :praise:   ;D ;D ;D ;D
me, myself, and Pie

That's why my  lyrics  are bi-lingual @Dutchbeat.

I love juggling with the language, and as long as I am a bit self conscious about the English lyrics, I post the Dutch version too.
Thank you for the huge compliments.
I like the guy (liked the guy), like his taste and like his works.
Thank you for reading this.
Kind regards, Gus

So, a wise Dutch friend told me that in Dutch there is always a "maar" . I think it was @Dutchbeat or @Mar T.  Perhaps that is why I think the way I think. As a person who can say a few words in Dutch I can see why because "maar" is kind of fun to say. Also, it's interesting that "mar" is sea is Spanish Ö considering how it looks as though you have a lot of water over there.

Anway, @LePlongeur , besides the funny parts with the bicycle helmet and all I like the concept!
Ralph Waldo Emerson had written the classic American ( with shades of transcendental ) essay about how "Traveling is a Fool's Paradise" and I can see how these song lyrics are related.
"Our first journeys discover to us the indifference of places. At home I dream that at Naples, at Rome, I can be intoxicated with beauty, and lose my sadness." - Emerson
I suppose traveling in our minds is what many will experience here through the Spring.
Good show!

Now I see, it was a bit of a rush job. Plenty of typos, a complete sentence missing...
To be  continued @Bill from November Sound
Iíll see if I can find it and repair the datageneratie done.
Kind regards, Gus

(Als dat maar goed gaat)
