Momma Died of Covid
on: May 29, 2022, 20:41:28
This came to me today while listening to Bluegrass….(yeah… sometimes I write while listening to other people’s songs.) it came in a continuous stream… except for rearranging a couple versus.

Momma Died of Covid

Gotta a where a mask these days
Heard about these places
Boys down at the Tavern
Are laughing in their faces

Minding  my own business
It’s what I always do
Your telling me I’m really not
By breathing next to you

Momma died of Covid
Daddy’s talking ‘bout Vaccine
Heard bout the Monkey Pox
In a New York Magazine

Don’t think much of science
It’s changing all the time
Heard it on the news
I can make up my own mind

Some of us are dying
It’s the way it’s always been
Heard a new wave’s coming
Here we go again

Momma died of Covid
Daddy’s talking ‘bout Vaccine
Heard bout the Monkey Pox
In a New York Magazine

🤷‍♂️

Yea I like this lyrics @1roomstudio

easy to understand to me with  non english mother tongue , a simple but true message.
It flows really nice .
Exceptionally i stumbled about this  verse, that stopped my reading flow:

Don’t think much of science
It’s changing all the time
Heard it on the news
I can make up my own mind

I ts slightly different to the others by the missing rhyme in  line 2 and 4. Or I'm wrong and time and mind rhymes ? Not sure about :D

Yes @Mo  time and mind rhyme as they both have the long “I” sound.

I believe there is only one instance in English of a one syllable word ending in “*ind” that uses the short “i” sound… the word “wind”… as in “the wind is blowing gently…”

But then the word “wind” … as in “… wind a string around my finger” is pronounced with the long “I”

Two words… with different meanings, spelled the same but pronounced different 🤷‍♂️
