sweet oblivion

A recent write, the music essentially ready.
For me it's poppy but on my terms.
Well the poppy fell by the wayside. Another version is almost ready. Just the vocals are giving me hell.

Feedback welcome.

. . sweet oblivion

where's the line between self esteem
. . and hideous pride?
don't you fret tho' you've never seen
. . . any stranger times
'wouldn't turn around you have got this far
I wouldn't want to see you crash that car
wiser than yo'years y'have never been young
. . . in the heart of someone

you really are out and about
. . . . in the wilderness
where survival is hand to mouth
. . . are you up for this?
. . harder to follow than it is to lead
surrenderland will bite but has no teeth
. . reasonably plain you just don't belong
. . . in that sweet oblivion

keep your nerve on the rising curve
. . . ev'ry twist and turn
Stay in step the later it gets the more
you're sure to learn
I had to learn who my friends really were
thoí ignorance could not have been much worse
I'll have the last word be it right or wrong
in the heart of someone

in that sweet oblivion

The first (famous first 4) lines lure me to read on.
A grand gesture without melodramatics. I'm curious!
Cleverly done @Rightly .
Kind regards< Gus

I really love how you write @Rightly .....but I'm glad that the pop version slipped away. Imagining you doing pop is like imagining myself doing disco.  ;)

@Leonard Scaper

Donít count me out of the pop scene! Lol.
I might try and fail any number of times, itís likely Iíll eventually get something interesting out of it.
Itís not like it hasnít happened before.
The pop version is still on my hard drive. I had too much going on, the mundane stuff and also other songs, so pop version stalled.
Watch out for the finished production, its ready for uploading.

Lol.
I did intend to see if I could finish it.
I've already put so much time in.
But at the moment my not pop production will have to suffice.
For my pop sound aspirations I've struggling and having some fun
with a new one (song itself is fairly old)
"one small victory"
It's a blast, and I wanted to go pop with. I've probably missed the mark but the results are interesting.
I'll post it soonish. Other songs have to take priority.

It'll be interesting to read your take on my pop effort.
