Allow me to introduce myself
on: July 16, 2018, 10:46:52
I've been writing songs on guitar for many years.
More recently I've been pressing on with Cubase and finding great delight in it.

For some years I've been performing in small venues in the city where I live. This has been a bumpy experience, highs and lows, all in all, too much drama.
I'll not quit though but handle it differently. Cut out the booze and cutting down on the random socialising would be the first obvious measures.

For better or worse I can't leave off writing and singing, I want to improve my skills in all aspects of writing and performing.

It's difficult for me to categorise my own music and at a push I'll call it good music.
I haven't the time to criticise music I don't like.

I like most artists who are more or less articulate and have something to say musically, lyrically or with their persona.

That's all I can think of right now.

Excellent and informative intro.

I'm betting that you'll find some music that resonates with you here at The Kitchen.

Hi @Rightly , welcome to the kitchen and thank you for your clear introduction!
I will check out the song you posted in Songs for Review as soon as time admits. Feel free to check the work of our kitcheners out, we're a kind of family here  ;) ;)
But first have a kitchen chair and look around  :) :)

Cheers and have fun!

HI @Rightly ! Welcome to the kitchen!!!!  :)

My story might be similar to yours in ways. I played live, local music for many years before I started recording. You're in the best place on the internet right here, right now ... IMHO.  :D

how I came across the forum?

I've had mostly positive experiences with a different forum.
so I googled forums n came across the kitchen.

there are kinds of quality which one seems to encounter more often in non-established artists, be it playfulness or hunger, than one does in
the bigger well known slumberjacks.

I hope to find it here too.

I've already heard some really good material on this forum. It's inspiring.
