Hello all !

Hello,

It was really nice to receive a message from Dutchbeat on soundcloud inviting me to this website and forum.

I'm a producer of electronic music and cover a few genres: house, lounge & pop.
It's hard to nail down influences as there are many, but here are a few:
Moby, DaftPunk, JMJ, New Order, Depeche Mode, Chad Valley, lounge artists on Hotel Costes, and Deep House artists on Hed Kandi.

I am a bedroom producer and started in 1992 on an Amiga using octaMED, a MOD programming music tool.
I switched to a PC using cakewalk, then RubberDuck, Reason, then Cubase SX and now primarily use Cubase Artist 8 to sequence music.
I have Reason, but use it mainly now for creating loops and drum patterns.

I would consider myself as a producer more than a live musician, and have co-wrote tunes with a friend's band.
I live in the centre of the United Kingdom and have been producing for about 18 years.
I can't write lyrics to my tunes and would love someone to maybe write/sing over my music.

Equipment used: Novation 61SL MkII, AKAI MPD226 and Cubase Artist 8.  ( + Lots of coffee )

My YouTube channel is set out for different genres and is my main platform for releasing tracks.

Look forward to hearing lots of great music,

Kev

Ask a petrolhed head for directions, and he/she will answer with horsepower, torque vectoring etc etc etc.
I am glad you joined ranks. Itís a very wise decision, as you will see for yourself.

A few personal things would make the picture even prettier.
The apple mafia disagree with prettier. What did I do wrong?
Well, either way youíll get the picture,.
A big welcome to you @Kevin Dixon .
Kind regards, Gus

Welkom - Welcome - Wilkommen @Kevin Dixon  - likiing your track on Youtube "Show me" - fine bubbly bass & tight beat. I could hear a saxophone or trumpet in there. Nice pictures I see in your thumbnails. Do you always use stills?
Good luck with the music and here on the Forum.

Thanks for checking out my music, I really appreciate it.

I mainly use stills for my videos, I've never had a music video made.
I did use a looped background on one of the vids (moonbase) which is a lounge/electronic track.

Thanks @oorlab for your comment.  "Show Me" started out as a loop which I then arranged.
I might cut it down to a 3minute version. Thanks for the ideas, I've used sax on a few other tracks so that could be excellent.
I usually use a blend of the Sax Brothers Kontakt plugin and a rompler called Nexus by reFX.

I've recently purchased Serum which is excellent at low end and bass sounds.
I mainly use Nexus for appregiatior/synth sounds, Kontakt for strings/guitar etc, Serum for bass and Battery4 for drums.

Have a great weekend!
