Hi @Emmazen, just know you’ll like it here :)

I think at least some of us can relate to finding balance between being creative and writing songs versus “normal life”, you have my sympathies anyways :)

Welcome!

As the years have gone by I have found that balance to get easier as I have incorporated my normal (and not so normal  ;) ) experiences in life into my songwriting. The writing becomes a natural extension of living.

@Leonard Scaper ,

You mean there's life outside of writing? I find "reality" to be a very nebulous concept. I'm most alive when I'm writing. And my daily ramblings through a world that's more or less mad are just compost for thought. Most of my life has been decided by somebody else. It's only within the nexus of my own imagination that I find slivers of what's really mine.

Hi Leonard...that is a really great way of writing !  :) I do try and incorporate my experiences into songwriting too - sometimes I write from the experience of a movie or book I've read too if it resonated emotionally and was particularly moving.

Hi Stan ...I completely resonate with what you are saying ! It is truly something I can call my own .  Also it's a great way to understand parts of my psyche  too ..almost a form of psychotherapy..and you never know what might come up from the depths ;-)

Regards
Em :-))
