I'm not sure where to start, how to interact or post songs etc. Is there a link I haven't seen? I'm looking forward to sharing, listening, learning and contributing!  I'm rather introverted and don't perform anywhere except in my living room, and am looking for a place to fit in. Writing songs is my true passion, and connecting with other friendly songwriters would be wonderful!
Do what makes your heart sing :)

Hello, Kelly. You have landed in the right place. We are all a bit introverted as songwriters...well most of us anyway....so don't be shy around us. This is a family of songwriters who are here to share and learn from each other.

If you have a hosting site like Soundcloud just post a link to your song. If you don't, it's easy enough to set one up. Don't worry for a second about recording quality. Just capture your song however you can. I have heard some very good songs that were recorded on a phone.

We can help you get better at that as well if you want to go down that path.

Take a look around at some of the many threads and see what resonates with you. Tell folks what you are hearing with their material.....we all have different sensibilities and I know that you have something to offer for my recordings.  ;)

Hi @Kellyanneg , welcome to the kitchen!
I could reiterate @Leonard Scaper 's words but he captured the 'feel' of our kitchen perfectly!

Feel free to post a link to (one of) your song(s) in the 'Songs for review' section of the kitchen and you'll see useful comments dropping in.

We're a unique, family like, sensitive and creative type of folks here. And we're here to help each other. So feel free to listen and comment on any song posted in the 'Songs for review' section as well. We all know it's 'opinions' rather than 'truth' being shared there. And opinions can help you re-evaluate your decisions or just stick with them. There's no right nor wrong. As an early kitchener I know how helpful these 'pointers' can be!

Have fun between the pots and pans!!  ;) ;)

Cheers!
Mar T.

Hi @Kellyanneg
Love it that youíve joined . Canít wait for you to post some introvert music.
Introvert is more or less called shoegaze, and thatís exactly what I do. Very noisy shoegaze.
And in every family (thank you @MartT) there are shy introverts and noisy ones.

When youíve logged in, choose between:
- mentioning someone (as in @Kellyanneg) and he or she will get a mail that you have written a post
- (reply with a) quote, you repeat the earlier quote to indicate itís an answer
- write a personal message to someone
- or (when someone has enabled that option) write an email directed at him or her

I like it a lot when someone mentions me, it makes it easier to keep track of the goings on.
Please keep in mind that there are people from all over the world in the Kitchen. So that not everyone is a native speaker.
That gives a lot of possibilities to murder the language.
And thatís why I prefer personal massages over messages. But donít let it fool you. I am the introvert kind. And, since weíre not in high school, I donít post smilies. Youíre smart enough to know when I am fooling, right?

So: welcome!!!
Hope to hear some introvert music from you.
Kind regards, Gus

yes, that is how it works... @Kellyanneg , this how we can have group conversations in every thread and topic out here in the kitchen, and give feedback to each other's tracks (and yes, as @Leonard Scaper  pointed out, feel free to make a thread and place a link to one of your songs if you feedback, and listen around to the music of the other members, or join the discussions in other threads)
and as @LePlongeur pointed out, there are various ways to contact or tag others via this very nice Michelin starred songwriting forum, very nice you dinned in!

and i am technically challenged too, in the sense that....ICT-wise i am a complete fool, well.... i am a fool in many respects :-), but luckily we have @Mar T. for keeping the forum running and solving all IT questions....and he never sleeps :-)

feel free to ask him if you don't know how to get things done on the forum, you can message him or fellow kitcheneers, kitchenettes and kitchenauts via the "message" menu on the top of the screen of the homepage (the message option is next to you forum nickname)

Hi @Kellyanneg welcome to the kitchen!!! This is a great place to be.
You're from the beautiful state of Ohio? Awesome!

I hear you on that "introvert" thing.
Sometimes I feel like an introvert in an extrovert's body. Other times I think I'm an extrovert in an introvert's body.     .....  or some kind of unwilling participant in my own life.

I look forward to hearing your music!

@LePlongeur did a great job explaining things already......... but if you haven't noticed there are some really cool smilies on this forum!

Ok, I figured it out, and it was an incredibly air-headed mistake - we'll leave it at that!  :bonk:  (I love these smileys)  Thank you for your kind words, @Dutchbeat, @Bill, @LePlongeur, and @Mar T.   Baby steps here lol.  Oh, @LePlongeur..."shoegaze"? Never heard that! :)

Hi Kelly,

You've got a beautiful voice! I just added you to my sound cloud ;)
I've just joined too!
I also do all my recording at home. I think we are all closet artists here :)
Have a good weekend!
