Hey everyone, great to be apart of the Kitchen, smells great in here !  8) Thanks for having me. I am an Australian born, world-wide raised dude who likes to: Sing, Rap, Beatbox and tap the table to make any type of music.

I have lived in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Macao, Hong Kong, Helsinki, Västerås, Bogotà & São Paulo. Right now I am currently living in Northern Italy's Torino =)

I like to play all types of instruments, but my voice is the easiest one for me to have with me at all times =P My favourite genre to create would have to be HipHop because of the diversity in styles which can be explored. I also love to make Jazz, rock, and take the piss out of Pop songs by changing the words. What I really would like to learn is how to write and sing alternative rap rock / nu metal. I also like to play more with jazz, because its my go to genre when jamming with friends and I have freestyled some gold sounds before, but in the end couldn't remember the flow, the words nor even the idea. Jam session are always after midnight and go for a few hours along with smoke and liquid =P so its no hope in that scenario. Perhaps here could be my new post-midnight jam sessions of writing! lets see.

At the moment I have been collaborating on allihoopa.com, has been pretty good, using their iphone apps I have been able to record and produce music while travelling around. I have a song here for you to check out that I wrote, filmed and recorded while flying from Sydney to Torino :

I actually recorded an entire demo album from my iphone and it is now on Spotify :) https://open.spotify.com/album/3L3PceODPZeVbfGIL9mXLY
I used routenote.com to distribute my music - its free, it allows your music to be everywhere and it pays you at the end of each month!

Speaking of getting paid, to make a living in this crazy world I have decided to live a crazy life. I do freelance Fire System engineering for large scale industrial and private projects, I also own and manage a company called ArtLab, we support all types of artists as acting agents as well as managers. But we really teach the artists how to manage themselves. We create events and projects with the artists in our database and have been operating in Australia for 4 years now. And so far 1 year in Italy =) I hope soon to bring this project Euro-wide and eventually around the world before 2020. Its a huge project, and I speak more about it on the website www.artlabpresents.com - Its a great job because most meetings are beers and long lunches.... just like how full-time building engineering was =P

I also am involved with a handful of projects, which I will not bore you with, but they range from art installations, to social experiments, to music festivals, to community services, to property redevelopment & business development. I am happy to help by sharing information, pointing people in the right directions or to people who can point in a better direction that I.

I could keep writing and writing as I feel like you still don't know me. If you are interested in getting to know me, say hello or I guess we will just have to meet in another thread ;)

What I will end my introduction with is the pronunciation of my artist name, iiviivix. It is pronounced, i, i, v, i, i, v, i, x! =) It is a mash up on roman numerals which mean something personal for me. It feel it links me back to my roots and makes me remember who I am. The name iiviivix actually started off as a joke name, I used to just write it when doing street art or water marked it into pictures I took or meme's I created. It was when I was faced with choosing a rap name for myself a few years back that I just decided to choose the same name. Because all rappers I know have a rap name that sounds like a rap name. But I honestly don't agree with that world of rap, so my name I guess is my first stand against being labelled 'a typical rapper' ;)

Hey I I Vee I I Vee Ex (aka @iiviivix ), welcome to the kitchen and for your incredibly detailled introduction!
I loved listening to your 'Eyes for you'! Haha you say you created AND recorded this beauty while travelling from Melbourne to Torino? Where did you rap then? Next to another passenger or in a passenger waiting room? Just curious!
Sounds fabulous to me, excellent and very creative work! And what an excellent rapping voice. Love how you fit those words sooo rhythmically into the beatzzz. And I love how you go 'your own way', we only live once don't we? Respect!
Ow.. 'U Know' sounds pretty cool to me as well!
Eh what is 'Fire system engineering'? Are you engineering systems that produce fire?  ;)
Anyway, big welcome to the kitchen and I hope you like it here! Have a kitchen seat and look around!
Cheers!!

Hey @Mar T. ! Cheers, thanks

haha - I wish, ironically that job is way cooler than my type of Fire Engineering lol. Fire System's in buildings are smoke detection, emergency notification, and fire protection (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers).

yeh man! I did it all from Sydney to Milan, via Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Helsinki,   I recorded in quite parts of the airports, the first verse was recorded in the gym room of Changi Airport's pool area lol, no one was in there and I was dying to get that verse out so I ran in there and got in it a couple of minutes. Then the second verse was in Helsinki airport at the end of the concourse wing, all the gates were empty and there was no PA so I took advantage of that situation =) The chorus was done in different spots, in the taxi (the thai driver liked it lol), a bathroom at 3am, and I fixed a bit when I got home in Torino, but not much.

::thumb:: cheers dude!! I made this song while I was in Bangkok, looking out a friends apartment window 52 stories up =) great spot for inspiration. Actually, hopefully this track will get me to Brazil, some friends who live there said they liked the 'house/rap style' (I didn't even know that was what was going on..) and they told me recently that they are currently looking to get me time on a few stages in Sao Paolo during the summer. **Where is the fingers crossed emoji?!!! =P **

I actually forgot to mention in my introduction: I just want to say how cool this forum is set up, the website is simple, very instructive and beautiful to use. Also, this is the first time I have ever used a forum in my life lol, but so far - I am hooked! There is so much content in here, the forks are clean ! And everyone seems very active, polite and no stupid comments, that I have found yet.... wait, is that something stupid to say? haha. Regardless, I wish to say ... well done Kitchen Staff!!

Hello!

I must say that this was one of the most interesting introductions that I have ever read in this kitchen - what a story! You’ve got a great outlook towards music, life and the world + it seems like you’ve got a lot of very interesting and creative projects going on too! +cool concept of creating music while travelling! I like doing so on buses and planes too, but have never done as much songwriting-milage (yet :P). Good luck with your ArtLab mission!

Cool rapping - I like your sydney-torino song + it's good to know we have a rapper amongst us - you’ll probably come in handy in collabs! X)

…So - welcome to the kitchen @iiviivix  , it’s great to have you with us!
(ps your artist name requires some getting used to! You definitely succeeded in being atypical…)

@MrBouzouki - I couldn't agree more. I'v used a few collaboration methods in the past and so far this one is the most unique and interesting experience I have had so far in getting to actually know other musicians online ...and I haven't even started collaborating on anything yet =P looking forward to that day!
