Kitchen Remodeling - and other projects
« on: July 01, 2017, 05:00:14 »
Alright this may sound weird....my art is home improvement.  :) I'm not sure if this counts as an art but when I'm not doing music stuff I remodel kitchens and other rooms for fun. I try to do it in an artistic way.

I love it!

I could SO cook in there!

I see the artistic side as well....very nice work.

:D That's really interesting!! I really like looking at before /after photos and remodelling projects. I like to design furniture and think about interiors too :) ... it's cool to present a 'kitchen project ' over here :)

You have some really interesting ideas. It's not that common to have that kind of blue/green/that particular wood in combination but they'really working well together and fit in nicely with the black metal parts. You managed to create a warmer ambience in the room :)

It would be great if you could share more of your projects with us in the future :) I guess this fits in well in the arts section :)

Thank you @Dutchbeat ! That is why I put kitchen remodel first....I wouldn't want to be called a "bathroomeer" ;)

Thank you @Leonard Scaper

Thank you @Mar T. ! Yes, it is a semitransparent glaze to give a more antique feel. I almost feel like I'm in a watercolor painting. All the cherry wood trim is my own design and creation (you probably cant tell by the picture) which I made from the boards that I chose. Once I got the router I started getting maniacal about making my own trim as opposed to buying it from the store.

Thank you @Rachel_D ! Some people would hate what I'm doing to a contemporary house....I'm kind of doing my own gothic fantasy style. My family business is ornamental ironwork so custom pieces are always involved in my creations.....my brothers weld it for me :)

Ah that's brilliant!!! (I happen to be needing wrought iron pieces for my house at the moment - over here we use them in heritage residential buildings for door fanlights and pregnant windows, balcony railing etc - I would have asked you if you happened to be geographically closer!)

Ha, Ha!  It's so funny that the floor vents are so noticeable!  :D That was the easy part.
You know how hard it is to install French Doors ?.........oh, man :)

(Plus, I had the side of the house wide open and suddenly Melissa comes speeding down the driveway, gets out of the car, "Bill, there's a tornado warning!" What? We don't get tornadoes here. Instantly [and I mean instantly] comes: wind, black clouds, thunder, tree branches cracking. Wow. I got that last door into place at lightning speed, I put some plastic over it just in time but I got drenched! No tornado but a sudden torrential rain/thunderstorm right while the house was opened up. Good times.)
