Ahh, thank you  @Dutchbeat ! :D

Yes, for sure it is alive!!!!  ;D Its same species as his big brothers in nature,  just created to be a miniature, mobile one. You have to care about like a  pet of course to keep them alive....
I posted it to give some other kind of input that maybe someone could find interesting.

Of course it is a special attraction to experience the different seasons in the cycle of a tree year.

So he looks regular in summer:

and here after fall short before Winter hibernation

Love it!
Happen to have a soft spot for everything out of the ordinary.
And I think that it’s a lovely idea to be able to put it in the sun or in the shade, depending on what the tree seems to like best.

What wonderful ideas you have @Mo!
Kind regards, Gus

Don't know why..., I have absolutely nothing to do on a football field. But I thought that we all @Mo , can use the support we can get.
And I personally like the green (leavy) photo best.

Kind regards, Gus

Oh @Leonard Scaper  beat me to the Bonsai!!!    ::Hoss::

This is very cool @Mo  You have patience and a green thumb.     ::thumb::

(IDK if green thumb translates but it is meant as a high compliment to those with gardening skills.)

That's funny! I never knew:

Just catching up with this fine set of pictures from @Mo and the comments  - looking forward to see how the Hornbeam (Hainbuchen ? / Haagbeuk) looks now. Bonsai gardening is certainly an art.

@oorlab, nice you rescued this posting from the Forum Nirvana ;)

Indeed dealing with little trees is a great pleasure. And additionally it is so amazingly instructive for yourself and your whole life.
Myself don't like to call my own mini  trees  'Bonsai' because this term is overloaded with to much things by inflationary usage for all small trees in pot if they deserve the name  or not.. not all small trees are 'Bonsai' according to  narrow Asian interpretation.

But what am I talking about?

Unfortunately the hornbeam doesn't look very nice at the moment. As the big brothers the small once struggels also by climate change and his leave almost dried up.
.
But instead  you maybe will like this ones  too that i pictured a long the year too as a replacment. I hope the Hornbeam next year will have a better season.

In contrast to the strong hornbeam here a more femine hawthorn in blossom that has  copper roots added as prosthesis. Because this was necessary....

I love apple trees all kind!  :D
