Title: Time Lapse
Post by: Dave Bradley on October 16, 2015, 16:01:10
I was reviewing the BeatBuddy foot pedal drum machine and created a nice rock backing track that I then added a bit of Nile-style funky guitar and then ad libbed an over-extended, over-indulgent guitar solo. BUT. That was never going to be a listenable song, so I mixed it down, chopped it up a bit and added a couple of extra guitar parts and some bass, gave it a bit more structure. I then came up with a lyric where the protagonist is obviously at the end of a relationship and trying to save it, frame by frame, like a time lapse argument, focusing, giving it one more shot. Hope you like!

When you come right down to it, it was never going to last
Days and weeks and months went by but years would never pass
Words had never failed least not until today
But anger rose and doors were closed, seemed nothing more to say

Just one thing...I really ought to touch
So, sit right down, don't turn your head, won't beat around the bush
There's angry words and painful deeds, it's all a crying shame
The thing is that I love you and we're none of us to blame

Come on, come on, come on, come on
Let's take another shot
Just focus on the day today
Leave everything we're not

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Let's give it our best shot
Just focus on this day today
Give it everything we've got

needless to say, Sciencebase, another super track from you

Always a pleasure  :o :o :o :o 8) 8) 8) 8)
the tightness of the vocal not completely what you Always reach
(in the first part that is)

the rest is spot on, as Always....and the guitars, the lead and the rythm guitar

are completely OK, spot on as Always!!! NICE!!!!

Thanks folks...

In terms of tightness in the opening vocal, you mean by doubling isn't quite on the beat...maybe I should do anadditional take...yes?

This song is brilliant! Great music and songwriting! I especially like your lyrics and the way they fuse perfectly with your music - there is an excellent relation between the choice/change in words and the changes in the musical elements and instruments which you incorporate. I really enjoyed your song. Thanks for sharing! :D
