Title: Top three Christmas songs
Post by: Wicked Deeds on December 15, 2013, 19:32:54
1. The Pogues  and Kirsty  Mc Coll - Fairly Tale In New York
2.  Ryuichi Sakamoto - Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence
3. Chris Rea - Driving home for Christmas

They don't have to sound Chritmassy - as long as they have something to do with Christmas or have  Christmas  in the title!

Come on Kitcheners, share your favourites here!  :)

David Essex - A Winters Tale - makes me sad
Band Aid - do they know its Christmas - its a class song and what an outro

but numero uno is....

Dean Martin - Let It Snow - the introl makes my heart leap and his playful delivery gets me right in the festive mood :)

Ooooh - good call!

This is an easy one for me:

1 - Prokofiev's "Troika" : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QsRDpsItq0

I got married on the 16th December 2000 (yes, it is my wedding anniversary today  ;D) and this was our "wedding song"  :'(

2 - Please Come Home For Christmas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mput_1lVYus

Bon Jovi cover of the classic Eagles song - for me this is just a perfect version - although this YouTube version cuts out the awesome guitar solo!  >:(

3 - All I Want For Christmas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5bo4VDEH-U

I think Mariah's version of this is absolutely stunning - I know it gets completely over-played at Christmas but the song "IS" Christmas for me  ;D
