i will go first...only EXTREME GUILTY PLEASURES are accepted 8) 8)
this one for instance, in my opnion, this chorus would always become a hit, and the Loudness is
heavy, the video is...pretty BAD, but they could not mess the song up,
and yes...it is a song! no really, it is a hit song right away
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGNiXGX2nLU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGNiXGX2nLU)
so what we can learn from this? :o :o, put the volumes up, and repeat a chorus as much as anyone possibly can handle
if it is catchy enough
that is the real challenge
sorry ;D ;D ;D ;D

This one has been stuck in my head since 82'. Not a guitar in sight, 100% synthetic :doublebonk: :doublebonk: :doublebonk: :doublebonk: :doublebonk:

Musically speaking, THIS one has always been my guilty pleasure. What I learned from this song is that sometimes there is NO WAY you can turn it up too loud.

Oh - how could have missed this interesting thread? Thanks @Dutchbeat, @Jambrains and @Leonard Scaper for filling it.
My guilty pleasure would be
https://youtu.be/2up7su7CeMU (https://youtu.be/2up7su7CeMU)
"Hobo Humpin' Slobo Babe" by Whale from Sweden. Utterly weird.
And what are your pleasures, guilty or otherwise? @Goatrelated @Pleudoniem @Mar T. @Mark Luto @budhabuilding - and the rest of the Forum?
-
Oh dear, not this stuff again.. Ok,ok, first I had to laugh a lot seeing guilty pleasures noone would have expected. Especially from @Jambrains ;D ;D
So I'll admit that I was a huge fan of Madonna in my earlier years. But it got worse. I sung this remix of her 'Holiday', with added rap from MC Miker G and DJ Sven (back in the 80's) in the shower for 5 years in a row. Have a look:

:-X :-X :P

Utterly Cool! - how did you unearth this @Dutchbeat ? - most amazing. I checked, Trans-X is a synthband from Canada, and the track is from 1982.
Reminds me in a way of The Mo - Fred Astaire - weird music, can I call this a guilty pleasure?

My eyes are now broken. :yawnee:
I've seen too much and it's only morning.
I became addicted to this piece for a while, couldn't find it for years but remembered the name of the artist today.

@LePlongeur another addition to section de la beatnik ::Hoss::

Great thread idea! :D
One of the first music clips I ever saw my then tender unstained teenager soul 8) was deeply impressed about the way Falco
performed this guilty subject with music.
Also i feel guilty about its mostly in german but it's a pleasure. ;D

another one as an atmospheric counterweight to my former example ;D
learned nothing is too kitschy or too old or too incomprehensible if it has the right frame.

OK, so far so good.
But the 'what can we learn' is still missing?
Or am I a party pooper?
Kind regards, Gus

that is such a good question @LePlongeur...
it took me a while to respond
without having the answer
but....i think what we can learn is... eeerhhh
that a hit song, or guilty pleasure, it is all about that Hook
that perfectly fits a specific time...
i don't know :-X :-\ :-\ :-\
oh and @Mo
i think Jeanny from Falco
is one of those songs  ....
that song even was a bit scary
-
i stumbled on this song now....what a master piece
@LePlongeur ...what we can learn from this is ....i think... ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D
indeed having that new sounding.. sound ;D at the right time.....it probably was not that new....but it sounded very new to me ;D ;D ;D
and..enthousiasm of the makers of the song helps...i hear enjoyment of the performers....it shines through more as the song progresses...mhhh..
so...kitchen forum ...I plead ..Guilty!
to liking this song :-[

i wonder what old kitchenauts like @Leonard Scaper (and @me) feel about this...to be honest,
i think all he made is...
