Title: Fat Boy (Live From The Lounge)
Post by: Leonard Scaper on November 05, 2019, 14:59:25
Last night I was just picking a little on my old Stella when this old tune kind of popped up. I think I may have posted the studio version of this a long while ago but this time I just fired up the gear and played the song.....lots of background stuff going on.....tv in the distance....the furnace kicking on.

I wrote this years ago after dropping my son off at summer camp for the first time. I'll never forget driving away and watching him in my mirror as he watched me go. Out on the road I drove slow.....a dude blew on by me on a big ol' Harley. A year or so later I added a verse after my daughter fell and dislocated her elbow.

It felt good playing it......just something for folks to listen to.

Beautiful ..

I remember this song - particularly the line about the wisp of your daughter's hair.  I could recall it immediately when you mentioned adding to it. That's quite an impact.

Lovely to hear a live performance from you.

yeah @Leonard Scaper  ... sounds great for a live performance! I remember the original as well.  :)
Nice job!
I also think it is funny that a vehicle that goes fast is called a "fat boy" .  ???

@Dutchbeat @Zedd @Bill from November Sound ........

Thanks for taking the time to listen to this one again and for your appreciation. I think I just felt the need to post this spur of the moment live thing because of the way it felt playing it.

In the last couple of weeks I have actually been playing music rather than writing it. It feels good and I think I'll be staying on that path for a while. I recently hit the 300 song mark on my Soundclick site and when I sit down to actually play I can only really play a dozen or so of them. I mean....what's up with that, right?  ;)

Aww, i really like the purity in this little wise, you don't hold back to show the love for your kids. It's all whats needed.

@Leonard Scaper
Pure
Emotional
Beautifully done
Love for your children
And I hope just enough for yourself

This is truly what makes it all beautiful.
I really think I havenít heard a single song that I found bollocks.
So either youíve a very clever system of selecting or (more likely) you write very very good.
Kind regards, Gus

@Mo .....thank you for listening to this one and for your sentiments.  i wrote this tune 15 years ago. Those kids have slipped out of my life now. The emotions....have not.

@LePlongeur ...thank you, Gus, for that. Nothing clever in my writing....I just wait for the songs to be there.
