Title: Indie Folk/Folk Rock Playlist(s)?
Post by: Theodorekidd on September 03, 2020, 09:13:55
Hey All,

Just wondering if there are any Indie Folk or Folk-Rock playlist curators on YouTube, Soundcloud, or Spotify (or any other music streaming sites) here that accepts submissions? I would love to submit what I have! Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,
- Theodore Kidd

Hi @Theodorekidd  it looks like you're on the right track! Well, I think so ..... I guess I don't know all that much about being on the right track, really.   :bonk:

Uhmm ... not too many around here who follow and subscribe etc. See my thread on the subject here: https://www.songwriter-forum-kitchen.com/forum/seo/3/subscribe-or-follow/6361/

I do, usually.

I do make some youtube playlists but mainly based upon specific themes and subjects and mainly to help boost views for me and some friends. Nothing you can submit to .... but it's a start right? We start right here I guess.

@Theodorekidd  - I curate playlists on several platforms, and welcome submission - but acceptance totally depends on the music itself. Does it fit the mood of the moment, is there any interesting angle in e.g. a sequence of songs, could a certain instrument be a thread? Or what is the oldest song of a certain musician on Soundcloud ? https://soundcloud.com/oorlab/sets/first-songs-on-soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/oorlab/sets/first-songs-on-soundcloud)

I say - submit away, and don't be afraid to be turned down. If the music is hones, it will prove itself.
If you live in the UK, I can recommend Fresh on the Net playlists - weekly submission via  https://freshonthenet.co.uk/

Thanks, Bill! I have a music video/single that I'm looking to be playlisted. Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp-_UgHvV48&t=1s

Thanks, legend! I've sent you a submission via a private message on Soundcloud and will keep submitting wherever appropriate as much as possible. Thanks for your time.
