My Christmas Song from 2018

It has an interesting background as the music began as a backing to a given set of lyrics ( I almost entered a Kitchen Challenge) and then morphed into a subtly different song with my own lyrics.

Anybody who grew up in the 70's in the UK will remember songs just like these and I tried to get that lush strings effect of those shows. I have no idea where the synth solo came from but I must admit I like the tone. It just fits the song for some reason.

I can hear where things could be better of course, both in my singing, which is better now despite being older, and some of the orchestration, but I managed to get a nice string ostinato that gives the impression of snow falling etc.

I always wonder about the value of redoing an older song like this but to be honest it's a snapshot of where I was at the time musically.

Lyrics - Winter in Love - P Goodrich (Dec 2018)

Now it's Winter and the days grow shorter
At night there's a chill in the air
But the frost and the snow cannot break me
'Cause I'm in love with an angel so fair
Who entered my world on the Autumn breeze
And captured my heart with a prayer

(C)
The snow falls, from heaven above
So it's good to share Winter in Love

Now there's tinsel and lights round the fireside
And Santa's soon coming to call
And with laughter you pull on my heart-strings
With your mistletoe kiss in the hall
So we wrap up warm from those Winter nights
And when I hold you, the snow starts to fall

(C)
And the snow falls, from heaven above
So it's good to share Winter in Love
Winter in Love

(Bridge)
Oh, I'll never forget that first Winter-time
And that Snowman we made in the glade
And my hand holding yours through those days and nights
With a promise of Springs serenade
And while Summers have passed since that special time
It's still good to share Winter in Lo - o - --o - ove

(C)
The snow falls, from heaven above,
It's still good to share Winter in Love
And while the snow falls, from heaven above
It's still good to share Winter in Love
Winter in Love

I like a lot of what I hear. A whole lot.
But has everybody forgotten the challenge in October 2018?
The same lyrics challenge?
A whole lotta Christmassy well meant romantic .... ahhhhhh, don’t start me talking.
Alors, the only time in my life that I wrote a Christmas song.

Enjoy. And please drag your own Christmas song you posted there to this place. Almost 2000 spins for mine. Those were the days.
Kind regards, Gus

Hello guys, I would like to collaborate with my Christmas lyrics, if someone is interested in working on it, it would be great ...

What I say in my story about the Star of Bethlehem is true, we will be able to see it from December 21 when the sun sets hide on the horizon.

I hope you like it, I imagine the scene and I love it, I love it hahahaha

THE STAR OF BETHLEHEM

Last night I saw
the star of Bethlehem shine

the conjunction of Jupiter
and Saturn
has put a sky of yesterday

if everything repeats
poor Jesus
He would be nailed again
to the same cross

Poor Jesus
Poor Jesus
I don't know what to do

If I put on an ox costume?
I would approach the little manger
and talk to Maria

I know she would accept
when I told her
the uselessness of His sacrifice

He would be saved
this time
from His destiny

I would take the Child
to a place
that does not exist
in the map
and when He had grown up
I would ask Him to paint a sun
that shines for everyone
and make a bread
that will never end
on the table of the poor

That's all, may be this translation is odd but I hint it describes what I want to say.

Felices Fiestas a todos!!!

Mora
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times
