Fascinating indeed @Monti Karus  - this Jingle Bells version in A Minor / mineur - it makes it melancholic and a bit gypsy like.
The player, Tom Mucenieks from Latvia accordng to his twitter account https://twitter.com/toms_mucenieks  has created an interesting visual  too. The midi notes evaporate after being played...

I love improvising in a different scale than a song is written.

Like using a Romanian scale instead of a minor or a double harmonic minor. Replacing notes with the nearest counterpart in another scale or simply just using the ear to find what sounds good.

He seems to have quite a following this guy. Good on him!

@oorlab Yes, the gypsy sound can be quite an addiction. Do you experiment much with Balkan scales on your violin?
