Kitchen meeting via Zoom No.2
on: August 27, 2020, 16:54:54
« Last Edit: September 01, 2020, 14:24:11 by Mo »
Hello kitcheners!

We got a step closer to the next live kitchen meeting via Zoom as we discussed it here:
 => https://www.songwriter-forum-kitchen.com/forum/seo/3/virtuell-open-mic-via-zoom/6477/
Everybody is invited even if just as audience, saying 'hello'  and or test the zoom stuff.

You need
Computer with webcam and micro or SmartPhone or Tablet

And  the app for meetings, u can download it here:
https://zoom.us/download

This meeting will last 40 minutes
We all would be very happy if we could get 3-4 performers .   ;D It wouldnd mind if this would be spontanous we don't expect origin songs either this time  Just perform what you want! ::Rachel::

The minutes that will left, all could use for just chatting around abit, about the kitchen or any other stuff what will come up.

There is no limit for numbers of persons, all who will like to get a bit closer are heartly invited!

For now, its considered to let it happen at

  Monday 7th September
  9 PM Berlin/ Amsterdam time - 3 PM American East Coast time

But we still can change that  day and time .

Please write down here what would work for you or if this doesn't .

You are free to tag kitcheners here as well please -  all you want. I don't do it by my own because i always think, those who would'nt  have been tagged maybe won't feel good about as it feels for them  to be outside of a certain 'circle'.

So i just tag the persons who mentioned before they like to attend.

@LePlongeur
@Bill from November Sound ( performer?)
@Dutchbeat
@Vince ( performer)
@Pleudoniem  ( performer?)
@oorlab  ( performer )
@Mo

More infos will come as we go! :)

For better organisation please let us know if you want perform and how many minutes this may take.

Thank you a lot and I hope it will turn as fun as last time!  :D
Feel free to ask any questions.

Hi @Mo

I'd like to share a song. I only have the mic and camera on my computer, is that good enough?

@Mo  @Dutchbeat   I'm retired so I'm pretty flexable.  9 PM Berlin time is 3 PM Eastern Standard time - maybe there are a few people who have managed to keep working during this plaque so maybe the time doesn't work for them?

Yeah, to find a good day time that would really fit to all maybe is the hardiest  with a regular business day  :D If we do later then 9 PM it could be  a bit difficult for some europeans either ....

What do you think to shift the day also to weekend? Let's say a sunday?  8)

I insist you'll join @Dutchbeat   8) ;D Of course, from my side @Dutchbeat @Vince  Monday  7th September works for me too.

Whats about Sunday 6th maybe?

Yes let's see what others think about.

@oorlab  it's not definitiv until yet. We still discuss what date will fit to probably all. What would fit to you?

7th September is the last  suggestion, that fits  to @Vince @Dutchbeat and  @me as well so far.

I'll going to remove the date from the opening post  for now ,  I'm sure we will find  a  time if anybody who like to attend would check their calender  and give a short shout out in this thread :)

Yes, i will do so  @oorlab.
Rather its 21.00 o'clock but doesn't matter really if one hour later or earlier until now. In fact we will pronounce it exactly still.  I hope our american buddys will attend this discussion too, to  find the best way.

Would you please us with a performance then, @oorlab ?

@Mo   - my experience with playing live via Zoom - is that the microphone settings are such that mostly the range of the speaking voice is favoured, and that parts of the spectrum are filtered out. We could try off course.

That would be just awesome @oorlab !!
We all will know, that the zoom setup  lacks  in a lot of points for high quality broadcast...... but this is just a side effect that is to bear, if you ask me. The main thing is come together and share a bit music and fun and some words. Especially in times where corona regulations does that great damage to social life and is separating people from people.

BTW  i  just wonder what our spanish friends @Mora Amaro La Loba  and @Marcus Nalgaber  think about a loosley meeting  for some minutes with the kitcheneers?
Is there anything that would speak against to meet you either in person?  :D

Zoom can allow musicians to play together via the meeting function. The “Share Screen” and “Multiple participants can share simultaneously” functions should be enabled. Your group can include musicians only, or you can make it public. If the group is made public, an audience can listen along. You can adjust individual setting so that only those of the musicians are heard, for example, while the audience can only listen.

The connection I use is only limping at best. I am 1100 km from home and, because of the meeting, I figured out that that fastest server is the Amsterdam server.
So I am grateful @Mo (and everybody else helping Mo) for your patience to get it done and I will be around for as long and for the duration possible.
I look forward to it. Really do!
Kind regards, Gus
