Roger McGough and then some 7 letters

I miss @MrBouzouki’s input, even if Out of 10 suggestions I put only a few in practice.
And even if I did, his remarks and posted videos always made me think about the things he posted.

So, while he’s taking a Kitchen light, I try and post something in his place.
There are a number of very short YouTube videos of him (Roger McG), talking about poetry and writing it.

I first heard of him in The Scaffold, bought several books written by him. And eventually he found his way into a Bonzo Dog Doo Dah spin off named Grimms. And bought those LP’s too.

If you are interested in getting to know someone who writes wickedly clever and funny poetry, do yourself a favor and take some two or three ministers per installment.

Enjoy!

Kind regards, Gus

thats a nice clip - @LePlongeur   - interesting fellow. I can hear he comes from Liverpool.
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah band is very underrated, and is still worthy of our attention.

What happened to Maestro Bouzouki? I hope he's fine...

Your hearing well, @oorlab .
He's Paul McCartney's (half) brother.
A very fine artist. My opinion....

On the Rodger McGough front,  the Scaffold contributed some tunes to a series called 'Decimal Five' as part of the decimalisation public information campaign on the BBC when we changed from £SD to our current metric system. I'd just turned 11 years old.

There was a substantial publicity campaign in the weeks before Decimalisation Day, including a song by Max Bygraves called "Decimalisation". The BBC broadcast a series of five-minute programmes, "Decimal Five", to which The Scaffold contributed some specially written tunes

Good to hear from you, @MrBouzouki !!!
Of course the decimals, the brexiteers, the Bribriba (Bring Brittain Back) may lend you, as long as we get the real MrB back!
I will study your new gear later. But I doubt if I can make sense of that.
Kind regards, Gus
