I really enjoyed that first video @Dutchbeat , thanks - he makes it sound so easy, writing all these now historically famous songs. Not sure I believe him that he 'loved' John...but maybe it was kind of brotherly love, y'know, a love hate thing!  :)

He looks good for his age though, long past 'When I'm 64' now! I'll watch the next video tonight!
If you like novels with a musical theme, why not try 'Sixth Beatle - When Music Changed The World', easily found on Amazon and Google. It is amazing, although as the author I may be biased!

bought the album today - after a first listen on Spotify. Sounding very good. Specially Dominoes and Happy with you.  Honest lyrics:
"I sat around all day
I used to get stoned
I liked to get wasted
But these days I don‘t
'Cause I'm happy with you"

That was actually a pretty eye opening video.

I never realized just how precise Mr. Starkey was in all of those songs.  I have read lots of discussions over the years about Ringo's prowess (or lack thereof) as a drummer but this video has me thinking he was pretty unique. When they play those Beatles covers at the end it is only the specific drumming that has them actually sounding like real Beatles songs.

Hey Gus! @LePlongeur ......any opinions on the inimitable Ringo Starr?
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper
