The Working Songwriter
on: October 19, 2016, 23:23:36
Hi all,

I went to a great gig a couple of days ago at a small Jazz club in Sydney - one of the performers is someone whose music I really like - Joe Pug. I met him afterwards and he's also a really nice guy.

He does a podcast on songwriting and it's really interesting for those who are interested in how working songwriters and their process.

https://joepugmusic.com/podcast/

Btw - the main act was Robert Ellis - I hadn't heard of him before and he was fantastic - country, jazz and pop with a really slick band. He's playing in Netherlands in November, Rotterdam, Oostende, Amsterdam and Utrecht so @Dutchbeat and @Mar T. check his music out - if you like him it will be a great show.

cheers

Hey @Mar T.

There's not enough time to listen to all the great music that's out there  - shame that work gets in the way!

This is a good video of Robert Ellis - one of my favourite songs right now after hearing it for the first time Tuesday night when I saw live...

Ow man @jurgen so much feel in this one... from Robert Ellis.. I love the dynamics in this one.. That verses with only the rhythm guitar playing octaves in a groove, that piano layed-back off-beat, fantastic vocals and the build up later when the drummer comes in. I can absolutely imagine why you love this! What a great track! I hope we kitcheners all develop to this level!
Thanks for sharing!
