Ultimate Recycling

Not music related but there is a Dutch connection with this.

I'm not sure if everybody can watch this (but it is BBC World Service). It's an interesting video about the circular commonly and how our waste products can help us not run out of Phosphorus.

In the Netherlands, at Amersfoort, they are extracting Phosphorus from human waste to turn it into fertiliser.

@MrBouzouki I live in Amersfoort, but I hadn't heard about that yet. I carefully checked my excrements, but it doesn't look like they have started to phosphorise already.  But it's worth checking to see if I can find anything in the local papers. That's how you get to your local news, just use the forum

@MrBouzouki I asked my wife and she knows a bit about it. It appears that Vitens, the company that does the sewerage in the region, is working with the local municipality to work on recycling indeed. I regret to say that I couldn't find any more specific information about it. It is an interesting idea indeed.

But when it comes to recycling toilet paper, ah well, we already do that  :bonk:

It's often amazing what is going on in your "own back yard" @Pleudoniem
I was amazed to think we might run out of Phosphorus in the medium term with the obvious impact on growing crops etc.
It's good to think somebody is working on this.
