Hi, Prog rock is not my cup of tea but I like your track ! Heard some Talking Heads ideas in your song and that's very cool, it's very well produced to have the bass and the drums in the front, the cutting guitar sound is great, overall I like the rythmic treatment of your song, you've got your own style and never go to the easy way   ::e-guitar3:: Cheers

"quite cryptical" is an understatement on the lyrics @Pleudoniem ... I`m going to be lazy and say I like @MrBouzouki  plausible interpretation

@robertkc One of the great things about lyrics is that you can make them your own, by having them speak to you in a way that applies to you. That would be somewhat unhandy if the message was for instance a political statement, but usually, the language is a little different in such cases. And nope, yours and @MrBouzouki  's interpretations were not the reason for the tree to complain, but they are quite plausible none the less. And so is @Mora Amaro La Loba 's way of experiencing it. To get to what the reason might have been, just look at what is happening to it.

@Pleudoniem  sounding strong and - might I say it - angry - which is good for getting things of one's chest, which is also a function of music and songwriting. Mixing points - the guitar and strings sounds sublime. The open hihat sound is a bit too loud for my taste and sits too much within the range of your singing.
From the lyrics I like:
"As if only to suggest
It had not quite understood

They had just drawn up its past"
 - but wonder what "It" and "They" are here in this context.

@oorlab Ok, see what happens if I lower the hi-hat volume a bit...

Better now?

That ending was inspired by a comment by @Leonard Scaper.

Re: 20,000 leaves, new song. I hope you like it.

@Leonard Scaper Ok, see if I can make something of your comment... stay tuned...

Is this what you meant?

I have been so bound up in the studio in my "Lenny time" that I lost track of this one. Brilliantly done with that ending!

Now if I could just figure out these amazing lyrics. Hmmmmm.......perhaps this is about the flailing of humanity across the planet by the greedy and self-serving machinations of the elite.

We need to work on this.....here is the song on this page for ease in navigation:

"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper
