Hi guys, here is a contribution. It is a song inspired by a line from TS Eliot's The Lovesong of J Alfred Prufrock, one of my all time favourites, for reasons that I shall no further explain. It wasn't recorded in my home studio, so the sound is slightly less than what I normally yearn for, but I think it will do just fine the way it is.

I hope you like it.

Good entry.....it definitely describes a misconception.

Regarding the recording....I went back right after playing this to your other thread and listened again to "Mural" to hear the difference. It is striking. This song does not suffer much, but your personal recording environment really produces a  much wider and deeper mix with much more detail.

Very good @Pleudoniem. For some reason I think some horn stabs would really add to this is you wanted to take it further, probably because id the beat I guess.

For those who want to go further with the reference (originally published :- June 1915)

Another good entry to the challenge
"Love and Life is all about connections"

I like very much
I find it very modern and full of a series of internal things that open the door to the universe of what I call good music

Congratulations

Nice work @Pleudoniem ! A very fine entry into the challenge.

I like the heavy guitars, the drum beat and especially the line about smilees !

How's that for an overly simplistic analysis?  ;)  Seriously, though, nice song with some interesting lyrics and a fine musical performance. Good show!

Nice work @Pleudoniem ! I read about the production quality, so I won't comment on that. Musically I like this one a lot! Beautiful instrumentation, love the guitar work! The lyrics are great as well, and yes.. very recognizable source of misunderstandings here, haha..
Good luck in the challenge man!!
Cheers,
Mar T.

@Mar T. @Leonard Scaper Thanks. If it does well, possibly it might be an idea to re-record it here in my home studio. I did that to Retrieve and What I was and You Weren't as well. I think that worked out ok. These were songs I originally recorded in 2003 and 2005.

If you might be interested, here they are.

I listened to "What I Was......", What a fantastic sound. When those drums come in with the guitar right at the top you absolutely establish this song as top notch engineering.

Cool song as well.

There is only one cassette factory in NL, and they burped up some  15.000 cassettes last year.
And they expect to double their production in 2019.
Theyíll triple their turnover if you go on like this.
And believe me, you more than proved you are capable of making fine recordings. Maybe this is the new thing to do. My music is called low fi, but maybe the time is right for lower fi.
The management doesnít allow me to hand out more than 4 points per entry. A pity.
And although itís strictly between us and very confidential, thatís what I did.

The misunderstanding is that I wrote an earlier post along these lines, but it seems to be missing???

Well, anyway, now you know.
Kind regards, Gus

This music is full of energy, I like it a lot
