Hey @Leonard Scaper  ... if you really want that pause there then I think it you should actually make it longer and more deliberate. It is short enough right now that it could possibly be mistaken for a mistake.  ;)

The rest of the song flows really well. I like that a lot!

@Dutchbeat ....you know how it is with me, DB.....if I'm not in the studio I'd be out on the street getting into trouble.  ;)

@LostBoy ........you're right about the flow. I did try to move things along more than usual. Thanks for checking this one out!!

@Lane .........glad you like this one.

@Bill from November Sound .....I'll be pulling the tune back up for one more look now that I have finished up with a little something else that I had the great pleasure of working on.  ;)

Pretend
You're winning
And spend
More time in your dreams
Then an end
Will be just a beginning

I love this. The whole song I mean. Dark...moody...pondersome...a kind of love is in there too.

But those last words...they are so true. I feel emotional now!

@monty_lameer ......I'm glad that this song elicited motion like that in you. It was like that for me as well in the writing. Thanks for letting this song into your life like that.

Now, that was something special, love the dark mood of this! If there is ever another cover competition I'd pick this one. A great song and performance, no nits from me.

Just back in for another listen! ...and to say, well this might be your most moving song ever. Amazing mix of atmospheric music and deep, deep emotional lyrics!

@Jambrains ......it means a great deal to me to hear that from you. Thank you.

@MichaelA .....thank you for coming back in for that second listen and for that appreciation. This song became something a little special for me. This is the first time in years that I have not started in immediately on another write. This one is still resonating and I am letting it.

Yes @Leonard Scaper , I can relate very much to that. Sometimes when we do our best work, then we just need to pause to take it all in. Then recover somewhat from that emotional investment that made our best work possible.

All our favourite artists have written scores of tracks, sometimes over very many years. Yet their very best songs are maybe four or five in number. You know, the songs they'll be most remembered for.

I think you are very right to take a pause and let this one 'resonate'. When you go again you will need all your creative and emotional juices fully charged! Cheers!  ::thumb::

I heard this one on SoundCloud first and liked it on there. I find it no different on here. ;-)

Strangely I was palying it repeat whilst writing down some words that came into my head.
Somehow the wash of sound was taking me somewhere so I scribbled down some words. Not ready for prime time yet .

It just shows how interaction can inspire

Your song has captured me from the beginning. I like the sound of the guitar and the bass of the background pedal.
Maybe the guitar is a bit high while you are singing?
The stop before the guitar solo enhances it and makes the music have its importance before returning to the song.
Your voice sounds great, as always.
It's true, the end is always a beginning, always.
I have become nostalgic.
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

@MrBouzouki .....I love how we do inspire each other often here at The Kitchen.

@Mora Amaro La Loba ......It pleases me greatly to know that this song elicited a bit of nostalgia in you. Thank you for your kind words.

Mixwise....I struggled a bit with that relationship between voice and guitar and I knew I did not get it just right. From a technical standpoint, I actually compressed the guitar a bit using the vocal as the trigger so that the guitar would duck under the vocal just when the vocal was playing.

One of these days I'll get this right. Not too soon though, I hope....I'm having too much fun learning.  :) :) :)

The lyrics are great man. Once again your tone is percect., such a reflective vibe too it. My only critique is the delivery seemed a little forced, fall into that pocket more. With that said, you can feel the wisness and experience/ pain in your voice.  You can't teach that.  Love the electric in this one as well!

@Neal ....great critique on the delivery with this one. I did feel like I was working harder than usual with my phrasing. Thanks for your appreciation and your in depth appraisal.
