@Zedd highs and lows, highs and lows!

I'd sit and listen to you play for hours quite happily.

Mrs OlBigEad: be careful what you wish for!

Beautiful song @Olbigead - all of it, the words, guitar playing and the vocals.

It has a live feel to it which I like, even the string scraping sounds good to me on this one. I don't like that sound when I play my acoustic and struggle with how (if it's possible) to avoid it, but the fingers sliding is the only way to get some of the chord/note transitions.

That ending is great - it reminds me of @revivalchoir - both of you add a lot of emotion to your harmonies, or is that harmonies to your emotional songs?

cheers

Hi @Olbigead , sorry for being late at this party

but what a beautiful song, very, very pleasant listening to this

great vocals

fantastic  ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb::

i thought the fret sound of the guitar was a bit much...very loud, but to be honest....perhaps that is great too  ;D ;D 8) 8) 8) ::) ::) ::), it gives a nice solid pace to the song

great this!

*oh and edit......sorry, i was still listening....pressed save to early...
the Loud bit (coming in at 3.59) to me was a bit loud (but i had my headphones cranked up)
but perhaps even more so, the acoustic guitar that is so loud perhaps could have some reverb, that would make it nicer, it sounded harsch to me (soundwise)

but the song is lovely  ::thumb::

A beautiful song.

Great sentiment...we've all watched grow old and dread the day they leave....but also can't wait.

Love the build up at the end.

Cool guitars

Fantastic listen

@Jurgen I agree. Am not sure how I feel about the string scraping. @Dutchbeat mentions it as well. Sometimes it appeals to me (kinda part of the acoustic instrument), sometimes I have to say it sets my teeth on edge!

@revivalchoir If I listen to the master long enough, I will learn :)

@Dutchbeat You're always welcome long after the party is over! I guess this one is a kind of gentle song. Or "pleasant"....a very English word!

@Movin Flavour Sandeep thanks so much for listening

LOVE the melody on this. The guitar is so sad and beautiful right from the beginning.

This song reminds me of "Strong Enough" by Sheryl Crow. (compliment!!)

This is such a haunting song I do love listening to it. My only request would be to hear the vocals a bit louder.

Nice job!

@Olbigead This is top stuff mate.. As a father of two this is really describes these years. Time is moving on way too fast and still this is the way everything has to go. Can't possible add anything more of substance than the rest of the kitcheners. Well done!

Best Marcus

Well this song, which was excellent by the way,  just brought an idea into my head.

The metaphorical journey of a river from it's source to the sea, the journey through life from youth to old age, birth to death, would be a great story arc for various song-writers to create a tapestry of songs describing different stages of the journey through life. I don't know if it could be a future theme for a future collaborative work ?  I think in some ways you would need to have the song-writing use water in some way in the lyrics to bind it all together. <shakes head>

Anyway, the playing and sentiment is just perfect in my opinion. I love the hopeful ending in effect saying "off you go butterfly - time to soar"

Magic bit of work :-)  ::thumb::

@Mar T. (and @Dutchbeat @Zedd @Rachel_D @Jim @Jurgen @Mark Luto @CrystalSuzy @Michael @Leonard Scaper...who did I miss!?)  Thank you! I can hardly believe it! What a fantastic surprise and what an honor, given the quality of the other artists who have been highlighted and who post here...When I tell Mrs Olbigead she will likely fall off her seat!
