Any Time at All
on: April 13, 2016, 22:43:34
Hello folks,

Here's a new song I'm working on.  I'd share the inspiration for the song, but I'm not entirely sure what it's about.  There are a couple of people in my life, including myself, who inspire some of the lyrics, but other than that it's open to interpretation.

There was a girl who didnít want to complain
She liked games of luck and dancing in the rain
And didnít like to waste any time at all

There was a man who lied to get ahead
Rather than love, wanted time alone instead
And didnít want to take any time at all

Following signs down city streets
To the neighborhood bar where the martyrs meet
Sheís a free spirited will of a wisp
Who never would say that she didnít fit
or that she regrets any time at all

Heís a cold man in the heat of the day
All twisted up in the hustle and play
Trying to make sense of her give and take
And the meaning behind the heíd make
And whether he meant it any time at all

We all sings songs for them

Hi Andrew,

I loved these words - I also like that the interpretation is up to the reader/listener to some extent. These are always the best words I think.

The song itself is very catchy and I liked the keyboards that's playing throughout.

The verse that starts "Following signs down..." - sounds little flat - I don't mean you're not hitting the notes, it's more that compared to the rest of the verses it doesn't have such an interesting melody.

The ending is great by the way, I like repeated pieces (instruments or in this vocals) - it works really well. And I think your voice seems most comfortable and thereby stronger during this end piece.

Nice song!

Alright it you won't tell us the inspiration......i will just tell u my thoughts.

This song is very uplifting, great strings and the song gives me a very warm feeling.

Great vocals and all the instruments complement each other so well

Suitable for long walks on a hot sunny day , or standing on top of a hill.

Well done

Lovely calm and gentle melody. BVs / vocal layering are lovely towards the end..

Really enjoyed this - intrigued by the story... Nothing wrong with obscure "work it out yourself" lyrics...

Good stuff!
