Brotherland
on: December 13, 2019, 21:05:37
Growing up as a twin and now being the dad of two boys leads me to the conclusion that brotherhood is a secret society; us against the world a necessary part of the code.
Slightly rockier than my folk offerings - your listensare appreciated and suggestions welcome.

    Brotherland

we grew up north of happy
across the river from getting by
born under a bad sign
the song he played after school

you better stay on planet Star Wars
my brother winked blazing that J
this world`s done he`d say
tell you what we`ll do

we`ll make another country
we`ll do things different there
in brotherland
we can`t fly
they`ll never know never know
we walk
we walk an inch above the ground

we ran under the radar
he said proud nails get hammered down
the first kids on the moon
they`ll never find our base

I wonder if he even knows
he was half the air in my world
between the bottle and his girl
we built our escape

we made another country
we do things different there
in brotherland
we can`t fly
they`ll never know never know
we walk
we walk an inch above the ground

@robertkc   - listening - superb! Liking the title, picture and setup. Bruce Springsteen comes to mind, which is never a bad thing at the Oor lab :-)

Liking this line

Thank you for the listen and comments @oorlab . I heard a little Bruce in the verses too.

Hi @robertkc

I had a special feeling with this song, I have a twin sister although curiously we are like night and day, her professional field It has nothing to do with art but, as it is generally said, we always feel when something goes wrong in each other life
Very nice song!
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

You understand that crazy-glue bond  of twins @Mora Amaro La Loba - differences can be vast, but something indefinable remains close.
@Dutchbeat I`m glad you liked the scene setting of those opening lines.

Thanks to you both for for listening and commenting.

Love these kind of pictures:
we grew up north of happy

I used to do things like
I was only here half a bottle
and you bring back the idea that I should do that more often again.

Apart from great lyrics, I love the song too.
Great piece of work @robertkc

Kind regards, Gus

Wow....I missed this one @robertkc . This is really good! I love that electric guitar sound and you really nailed the percussion in the mix.

Great song as well. Loving this listen right now.

I love the image of walking an inch above the ground.
