You've got a cold. Good. After that you'll be better. Just because you have the time to think of the following first, @robertkc .

A practical approach for harmonies that scare you a bit:
- have an LP and a tightly rolled up fluffy towel ready
- put elastic bands around the towel after you rolled it up tightly
- put your mic two LP's away from the wall
- warm up your voice first
- be gentle with it, don't strain or anything
- lay the LP on the floor against a wall
- put your heels east and west from the outer corners of the LP, but keep your feet on the ground
- put the rolled up towel between your shoulder blades and the wall
- notice how you stand fixed, unable to lose your balance
- you don't want the cold from the wall to get into your muscles: hence the towel
- notice how you slightly 'tension' the muscles in your belly, that's good
- place a hand two fingers under your belly button and give a little/light pressure

- sing the harmonies part once this way, without recording*
- sing the part again with recording, and it's already done

*next song, same procedure without the sentence with the *

You have no time to let the part scare you and you concentrate on what matters most. The breath. If you don't breath, you can't sing. And you can sing most anything. I'm convinced of that.
If there are harder and softer parts in the harmonies, you can choose/chose (?):
- accepting the dynamics
- singing the louder parts very slightly 'west' of the mic

I really hope you will give it a try.
Kind regards, Gus

@LePlongeur  I like your style of practical advice using everyday household items... only problem is I left all my LP`s in a box in a house and country I left 40 years ago :doublebonk:- I`ll think of a workaround because that posture stuff is very useful for this sloucher.
I have a nice wall picked out ready... my  :dance:harmony wall

Oh, thatís plain laziness on my part.
Donít know if you use metric or imperial. And my being dyscalculi isnít any help too.
So whatever your system is, an LP is an LP, mostly.
And letís face it, itís no rocket science. If you lean backwards and spread your feet apart, your body will recognize whatís going on and reflexes are setting in. Thatís what counts.
If youíll try it, you'll find your best position. I am sure of that.
I really hope youíll give it a try.
Itís not for the very first time I get somebody to do it.
Kind regards, Gus

Your moment of inspiration is great!
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times
