Just finished recording this about half an hour ago, I'm trying to make more originals and less covers

With my preference for all things out of the ordinary, I've ticked (almost) all boxes.
Lovingly done.
Maybe a bit sad but not hopeless. I really like this one.
If you can write originals like this one, why bother with covers - i.e. things that have been done before.
I've a friend who's partisier. Someone who makes elaborate cakes. Huge cakes, wedding cakes, birthday cakes you name it.

And the first time she makes something new, it is sheer creativity. but when repetition sets in, the creativity leaks away and what remains is very good craftswomanship (yes, I know), and boredom peeks around the corner.

If you're happy with craftsmanship, go ahead. Like in symphony orchestras. Mozart's own cover band.
But if you join a songwriters forum, I suppose your ambition is directed on another compass.

Yes, of course this is just an opinion, but it's my  opinion @LovingLime , and it's meant as a compliment.
I hope you'll give it a thought and a shot.

The 'almost' in the beginning? I am not a native English speaker and miss out on some parts of the lyrics. And I am an OK, Zoomer: I wanna have it all. Please post the lyrics too...
Kind regards, Gus

Wow - beautiful ethereal vocal - particularly right up there in the higher registers. Love that. This is really intimate and interesting  - great build and atmosphere. The dryness of the vocal is perfect. Well done - write more.

This is an absolutely beautiful piece of music.
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper

there are scars
on my heart
broken skin
falling apart
how can I hide them
what if they know
what if it find's me
where can I go
here are the scars
along my arm
how do I hide them
can I get far
Oh
without my covers
without my shade
and only I
can take the blame
Maybe some ink
maybe some art
to cover all
that's on my heart, on my heart
to cover scars
that plague my mind
to cover scars
and tired eyes
please will you help me
maybe you know
maybe you found me
where can I go
here is the scar
along  my arm
how do I hide it
maybe you know
Oh

Thank you so much everyone! I'm really grateful for all the support :)
I want the album I'm working on to have a lot more originals, I'm thankful that you all like this one ^_^

@LovingLime
It is a very sweet ballad, very relaxing and atmospheric... Very good idea to make originals, this way it is your own color shining in this piece.
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times
