Hi @CGHound - wonderful thick dense sound you got there in the mix. Are you planning to rework this 2016 release? Any particular advice you seek from us for reviewing? Can you may be explain how you wrote this?
I like the line
"Drive in into a head-on collision
Just drive it away from me"
totally clear message.
Cheers
It's about a woman that I feel hard for. She was living apart from her husband when I met her. Her husband was older that her and knocked her up when she was 14. I wanted to cut off his nuts. I met her at a gig. She was with some female friends of mine. After the gig I got seduced. I didn't think I could be seduced. I thought I was in total control. It was the most potent experience of my life.
There were some red flags that I ignored. She told some lies in the beginning and then fessed up. Her supposed soon to be ex kept hanging around and working on her. She loved cars. He bought her car and eventually bought her. The lies began.
He had really pressured her. They had two kids. A boy and a girl. She went back to her scummy hubby. The kids got stuck in the middle so I decided to bow out. Had she not had kids, I would have ran her husband off. She inspired several songs angry songs. Like this one.
https://soundcloud.com/user-316831637/jane-mix-b-wav There was a lot going on in my life then. I had mononucleosis that nearly killed me. I was working hard doing industrial roofing plus gigging. The first MD misdiagnosed me. I was just getting my strength back physically when I met her. I was quite vulnerable and I fell hard. It took time to get over her or what I thought was her. She was between a rock and a hard place with her pervert hubby poisoning her son. I had to move on. She would sniff around at gigs after she gave her hubby the heave ho but I ignored her. I was gun shy. I lucked out. My wife is better to me than anyone has ever been. We get along well and she's easy to love. She's very remarkable.
If I redo the song it will be with a kick ass drummer and kick ass guitar player. I'll have a studio soon. I'll probably lay the bass, guide vocal and throwaway guitar track. Rehearse the song with the drummer and guitar player until they really lock in on it and go into the studio and tear it up.
When I was licking my woundsand writing songs about the experience I thought, "At least I got some good songs out it".

I had no animosity after I wrote the songs. I wish her well. She was confused.
