Everything and More

Comments and suggestions are very welcome. I wrote this song awhile back and while I like most of the lyrics I know parts of it are weak. I am not a lyricist, I like to record and arrange. Anyway, I hope you like it.

It was just one kiss,
but instantly I knew
The very first time
Your lips touched mine
We will be together
Forever and a day
It's bigger than the both of us

If the lord should wonder
What I'm prepared to do
To help you see
How much you mean to me
I'll promise you my heart and
Soul forevermore
It's the least that I can do

It's a love that means
the sun to the earth
the moon to the tide in the sea
The dawn of time to eternity
is what you mean to me
You mean even more
Everything and more

A single grain of sand
in the universe
was my sole existence
before I met you
You added love
to the formula
pretty soon we built a home

Now I am just the man
who wrote down these words
they don't mean a thing
until you hear me sing
Picture us together
the puzzle pieces fit
bigger than the both of us

It's a love that means
the sun to the earth
the moon to the tide in the sea
The dawn of time to eternity
is what you mean to me
You mean even more
Everything and more

I'm gonna love you
Tomorrow
I'm gonna love you
Tonight
To love you forever
until the last star's light
shines no more
I'm praying for...

It's a love that means
the sun to the earth
the moon to the tide in the sea
The dawn of time to eternity
is what you mean to me
You mean even more
Everything and more

Thank you to everyone for your lovely thoughts.  But I really want to say that I am open to critique and suggestion, especially with my lyrics.

I am a musical craftsman, but I am not a great lyricist. It is hard for me to get just the right balance of sincerity of message without sounding trite or preachy.

I guess I am saying that while I enjoy hearing people comment on my music, I am actually hoping for some useful suggestions on my lyrics. I am not trying to get you to do my work for me, just saying that if anything comes to your mind that you feel comfortable sharing then I am all ears. :-)

I like the lyrics.....particularly the chorus. They are a bit on the mushy side (  ;) ) but that's cool....that's what you wanted I think.

Good arrangement.
"The main thing is to have a gutsy approach....but use your head." Julia Child

"In a world of robotic conformity, the only originality left in music is the imperfections" Eric Craptone

"Special thanks to Steve Gleason for making me who I am today." Leonard Scaper

Thank you, Leonard. I think I found a fix to the lyric that was bothering me anyway.

It was... "I am just the man who wrote down these words, they don't mean a thing without you to sing to..."

But I can make it

"I am just the man who wrote down these words, they don't mean a thing until you hear me sing."
