They’re hosing down Uncle Sam,
Just to hung him out to dry
Everything’s all on the line
Sweet lady Liberty has been given a black eye
Everything’s all on the line
Pray and hope, young man….like you mean it, this time
Pray and hope, young man….’cause, everything’s on the line
Circle them wagons boys….
the mobs are out for blood
Everything’s all on the line
The swamp is growing heavy
And we’re waste deep in the mud
Everything’s all on the line
Pray and hope, young man….like you mean it, this time
Pray and hope, young man….’cause, everything’s on the line
Send lawyers, guns, and money
the shit has hit the fan
Everything’s all on the line
The word is out, the fix is in
And they’ve taken Michigan
Everything’s all on the line
Keep the faith boys, hold the line
Keep the faith, that light will shine
Pray and hope, young man….like you mean it, this time
Pray and hope, young man….’cause, everything’s on the line
Here are the are the lyrics to Warren Zevon's Lawyers Guns and Money. I thing there's a copyright violation.
I went home with a waitress the way I always do
How was I to know she was with the russians, too?
I was gambling in havana, I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns, and moneyDad, get me out of this, hiyah!
An innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck between a rock and a hard place
And I'm down on my luck
Yes, I'm down on my luck
Well, I'm down on my luck
I'm hiding in honduras, I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns, and money
The shit has hit the fan
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Send lawyers, guns, and money, hiyah!
Send lawyers, guns, and money, ow!Kid Rock is a notorious song thief who also stole from Warren Zevon and the Busy Bees.
http://biggerfatterpolitics.blogspot.com/2015/07/kid-rock-is-song-thief.htmlhttp://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread746089/pg1I've had music stolen and I had to track the punk down in New Jersey and send him a lawyer letter.
I kinda get what your song is about. When I write a political song, I don't mince words.
It's how us patriots are.
One of my favorite song is The Battle Hymn of the Republic. Maybe you should check it out.
The Battle Hymn of the Republic started out as a marching song by the Union Soldiers- the good guys. It was about John Brown a preacher who tried to peacefully end slavery in the US but after years of trying he decided to attack and kill the oppressors who thought that owning human beings was moral. This was a few years before the Confederacy attacked Fort Sumner and started the Civil War in a vile act of treason.
Being a Calvinist, John Brown knew all too well that morals, reason and logic would be lost on the slave owners who would eventually attack the US so that they could keep their free labor and continue living their vulgar lifestyles like the 1% does today. John Brown orchestrated a raid on the arsenal at Harpers Ferry.
The story ends with the South being crushed by a superior military force and whining about it ever since. Patriots much like me have written songs as a tribute to men such as Megar Evers, Martin Luther King, Emmett Till, Mohammad Ali, and John Brown, Nat Turner, Wyatt Erp, etc... I'm thinking maybe I should write a song about General William Tecumseh Sherman and what he might do today as he sees anarchists honoring the traitorous acts of the Confederacy by calling it heritage and calling for armed insurrection, and assassinations of leaders in my country. My family and friends have shed blood for America. My half brother's father was killed in action. My father served with the 63rd division where he hunted down Nazis during the occupation. My grandson is in the National Guard. I've entertained disabled vets. That's my heritage.
The Battle Hymn of the Republic Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps,
His day is marching on.
I have read His fiery gospel writ in rows of burnished steel!
"As ye deal with my condemners, so with you My grace shall deal!
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel, "
Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him; be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free!
While God is marching on.
