Finally did something I'm really proud of
on: November 07, 2018, 18:12:36
Hello, my kitchen friends. Sorry I haven't been active for a while, but me and the other boys in the band were grinding this thing and recording it.
Finally we are done and I'll dare say it it's one of the best things I've done as a musician. Give it a play and let me know what you think.
Bless <3

Wow. Lenny doesn't go down this path very often. This is some heavy duty head bangin' material.....and I really got into it. I must have some latent grunge in me that wants to come out.  ;D

Seriously, though, this really is a seriously well put together piece of music. I love the change-ups and how you end it. I can't comment on the mix until I listen tonight in the studio.

@Kristijonas No holding back  :praise: I have no idea whether this is a departure in style for you, but there`s more than a punk song here  - the dynamics are very well done and that leaves room for the big ending ( hats off to anyone that can let rip and hold a last line with  conviction like that).Actually the whole vocal is good and sitting in the mix well.
It would be nice to read the lyrics as the dark subject is interesting.
Love those panned guitars ::e-guitar3:: ::e-guitar3::

Itís a bit more accessible than normal pogoing stuff and I like that.
I take it that youíre the guitar player?
If so, would you tell me what guitar you hammer?
Only joking of course about the hammering.
Itís very good. Some venue like Paradiso Amsterdam (1000 to 1200 people) would be jumping up and down on this.
Kind regards, Gus

Musically, I haven't done so many things that I'm proud of, so I had to give my listening to the current competition  songs a break and listen to this one, I'm glad I did.

Thank you all guys!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the mix, @Leonard Scaper !
@Vince  aw :D
@LePlongeur I recorded this with a mexican fender tele, but i recently bought the american special series jazzmaster
I can't wait to try that bad boy out in the studio!
@robertkc here are the lyrics:

Follow the leader
He doesn't ask much
You just have to obey him
Otherwise you'll be crushed

Trust him blind and observe
How he leads his nice herd
What a nice institution
The Leader has a solution

Use piss to mark your territory
Spill blood to gain your fame and glory
The more the merrier
Expand the barrier

And you hide behind a flag
Mask it with the pride of a nation
To justify your putrid attempt
And cause  total annihilation

You're prepared to obey
When you witness dismay
All these graves and pollution
This is our evolution

Every pack has a leader
And our is the best
We will reach retribution
The leader has a solution

Then we will follow
Then the sheep will follow

Ahhhh...., a tele. Very well done. I wouldn't have guessed that.
It sounds like a bell.
Got me very curious what you'll come up with if you use your new baby.

Keep them coming!
Kind regards, Gus

I would love to hear your thoughts on the mix, @Leonard Scaper !

I listened last night in the studio with my good headphones. The first thing that struck me was how well you defined every element in space. It sounds as if you went with the classic L/C/R (Left/Center/Right) panning technique. As @robertkc mentioned, those guitars sound fantastic. But you also panned some of the vocals wide and the drums sound perfect close in like that.

With all that space in between things there is a wonderful sense of depth and freedom to the mix....which really works well with this kind of music. You actually set that whole perception up very skillfully with that live intro and then the cymbal hits to get the song going.

Really good work here.

Heavy, heavy, heavy,  :pompom: and mystical sometimes... Good fusion, very well constructed and carried
I did not know that to live I had to die so many times

WOOOORRRRRAAAAAAAGH!  Gimmee some loud shouty, go mental punk! Yeah, more energy than a room full of toddlers.
Loadsa shouting and pulling faces and reckless bodies and.....oh it's gone all quiet and reflective?
It's probably safe now to have a sip of my Chardonnay?   WOOOOORRRRRRRRAAAAGH!
F*ck it, all down me shirt front.
So yeah, lotsa stops and starts and different speeds and moods. It's well realised and performed.
Think if I was the guitarist I'd have avoided that rather thin rhythm sound you had, and I would've flatly refused having my guitar panned out so far.
If the guitar aint the main instrument in punk I don't know what is, and it should have been more central or stereoed.
Tell 'em who's boss, mate.

I like this @Kristijonas - but I want more pulsing bass hitting my gut.
It needs to feel like you are in a club jostling for space and it's lacking the low end for this IMO.

I love the reflective sections and the build at the end but as a guitarist I never thought I'd say this "I want more bass "

Good Job
