This was a ridiculous challenge!  ::) Unbelievably difficult.  :-\

https://soundcloud.com/november-love-680008043/random-lyric-challenge-for-songwriters-in-the-kitchen/s-Vq2J1

I went to the website https://thinkzone.wlonk.com/PoemGen/PoemGen.htm  and clicked "make poem" , clicked it again, again and again  ... this is what I got:

Oh, work!
Death is a dark door.

The big flower quietly loves the girl.
God, noise!

Work is a noisy truck.
The window talks like a cold guy.
All jackhammers hustle dry, dark windows.

Action is a dead truck.
Action, exhaustion, and love.
Why does the car gab?
Where is the noisy rain?

Damn (oh), life!
Ah, love!
The dry cigarette quietly grabs the driver.

The old truck roughly buys the hood.
Where is the fast cigarette?
Desolation, life, and death.
Why does the worker stop?

O, faith!
Flowers talk!

Faith, desolation, and death.
Where is the cold window?
Why does the street work?
Walk calmly like a cold slum.

Why does the job grow?
Workers work!
Desolation is a dead jackhammer.

Never desire a sidewalk.
Love, life, and love.
Sidewalks shrink like dark windows.

So I had to modify it a bit to make it singable. It still doesn't make any sense but ... well maybe it sounds okay?

In case you're new here ... my son is on drums, my wife sings and I do the keys, production work etc.  ;)  .... so don't suggest I fire the drummer etc.  >:D

Here is what I did to the lyrics to make them work for us:

Verse:

The flower quietly loves the girl.

God of noise!

Work is a noisy truck.

The window talks like a cold guy.

Chorus:

Oh, life!

Ah, love!

The dry cigarette quietly grabs the driver.

Oh, faith!

Flowers talk.

Desolation is a dead jackhammer.

Why does the worker stop?

Verse:

Faith, desolation and death,

Where is the cold window?

Why does the street work?

Walk calmly through the cold slum.

Chorus:

Oh, life!

Ah, love!

The dry cigarette quietly grabs the driver.

Oh, faith!

Flowers talk.

Desolation is a dead jackhammer.

Sidewalks shrink like dark windows.

Hahaha poor us, contestants, with those terrible lyrics... Chapeau for creating such a nice song based on these words @Bill from November Sound  (and Melissa and Will)!
Kind of jazzy ballad in my ears, and definately with the November Sound signature.. A gift to listen to!
Well done!!
Cheers,

Iíve been laughing a lot when reading the lyrics for those entering the challenge...

This was hilarious  @Bill from November Sound

Dunno how I would pull a lyric that random into music but to my surprise  Mellisa did a great job singing, Will stayed on track and the arrangement was for a lack of better words, very suiting with the strange randomness. Itís got the feeling of an artistic installation in the verses and after a little getting used to it the last 20 seconds were rather enjoyable.

This challenge is a strange one but Iím still missing out it feels like. Kudos to all brave Kitcheners entering. Good fun too.  :pompom:

Mate you have accidentally discovered the arcane  secret of Prog Rock.
Write a load of pretensious nonsense lyrics,  add some odd time sigs and some grand sounding music and hey presto , instant Prog!
This could be any of a hundred English Prog bands of the 1970s: Genesis, Caravan, Gentle Giant, Yes.
The clothes and the haircuts would mark you as time travellers though.
Fabulous stuff.

This is fantastic! Really well arranged to bring out the absolute nonsensical nature of the lyrics and make them seem.......perfectly apt.

Kudos to Melissa for such an emotive performance in the face such absurdity and especially to Will for his perfect haphazardness.  ;D

@Bill from November Sound
This idea is very interesting
It has many different colors inside it that maybe stay too short in duration
This is authentic Fusion that is the music that I like the most.
For my taste that style of drum rhythm that leads, is not the most appropriate, I think it would go better something more sophisticated world music with some techno sounds
I would like you to continue investigating for this style

Hola @Bill from November Sound

The story is just as absurd as when you tell a dream with some of the bits and pieces you remember, but the voice of your wife and the melody that she has given to the lyrics have transformed everything.
Congratulations, the song has many Spanish colors too! Chick Corea also came to mind. ::thumb::

Ha, ha thanks @Mar T.  , @Dutchbeat  , @Leonard Scaper  , @eric craptone  , @Layerson  , @Marcus Nalgaber  , @Mora Amaro La Loba  !!!!

So we can all agree that it is a "Smooth Jazz Fusion Spanish-influenced Prog Rock Ballad" of weirdness?    ;D

Cool that you picked up the odd meter there @eric craptone  ... of course 7/8 is the easiest of the odd time signatures ... but well it's an odd song so... yeah.

@Layerson  I should headline with your comment "4 out of 5 people agree that they enjoy at least the last 20 seconds of this"  :)

And @Marcus Nalgaber maybe this style does require some more exploration but with this challenge deadline and these lyrics it was probably the best we could do for now.  ;)

This one might be the weirdest?  :)
