Enjoying listening to everyone's songs so far, this will probably be the last one of my own I share for the year.
I wrote the lyric for this song several years ago after a trip to Melbourne. It may sound silly, but I was sitting a table in a restaurant with a friend and at the very next table there was a gorgeous girl, and somehow, despite never talking to her, it was the inspiration for a whole song! You know how you see someone and you wonder about their life and what their story is, and if they would give you the time of day?
The song existed as a demo for several years, and over time I have actually dropped the key by 3 semitones to find that sweet spot for my voice. This version was recorded last year. Would like to know what everyone thinks? This song has received quite good feedback and I'm thinking of pushing it harder to the public. The lyrics are extremely simple but, I'm hoping, relatable. Any suggestions for improvements would be very welcome.
As with all my songs, I'm performing vocals, guitars and programming of drums/keys.
My friend Glen is playing bass and singing the harmonies.

I wonder about your life
And who you're going home to
Maybe you have nobody?
You look so beautiful
Would you talk to me
No, I don't think you ever would
You're just the girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
Would you say hello?
Would you tell me your name?
If I said I liked you
Would you tell me the same?
Oh but you don't know me
You're just the girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
I'm wondering as I stare
At your loveliness
If you've had a broken heart
Might see you again some day
Would you remember me?
No, I don't think you ever would
You're just the girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
Would you say hello?
Would you tell me your name?
If I said I liked you
Would you tell me the same?
Oh but you don't know me
You're just the girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
Oh but you don't know me
You're just the girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
The girl at the table next to me
