Giving rapping a try.
on: May 02, 2020, 03:45:58
I was a singer songwriter/guitar player and I recently started to fall in love with rap and hiphop. Ive decided I wanted to give it a try. Ive recorded a couple of songs and wanted some feedback. My setup is extremely rudimentary and this is my experiment to see if I could do it. Normally I write these little love songs on acoustic guitar, but rapping actually kind of gives me confidence more than that music has, pretty crazy cause no one would look at me and think I even like rap. Anyways just wanted to share with you guys, thanks for listening to my silly songs.

Nice flow, really playful and interesting @idledays  O0  ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb:: ::thumb::

Although Iím not really qualified to review hip hop, Iíve heard a lot of new stuff and old songs. (My tattooist is heavily into the hip hop culture and when spending many hours in his chair I got the idea, talking to him explained even more.) Iíve listened to some songs by amateur artists in another forum.

Think you really nailed the rap and it sounds really tight, perhaps expecting some more adlibs in there, maybe on the off beats? (...as I understand many rappers adlib themselves so thatís what I mean...) I also like that you kept the attitude in check, think thatís way more serious sounding, if you get me.

As for the beat and arrangement thatís very good, and I really liked the ďtoy-ish steam punkĒ instrumental style, gave it an interesting and personal sound.

Definitely, you sound very hip hop and I wouldnít have guessed you just started out if I didnít know.
